flist! those of you who have smartphones, can you get online radio stations on them? like, if your favorite station streams online, will your phone pick it up. do you need an app for that? (rich the coworker listens to some radio station from los angeles on his computer when he's here. like that, but on a phone.) can you talk/text/whatever at the same time? i don't have a smartphone, so pretty much everything they can do is a mystery to me.
evidently yesterday was david bowie's birthday too.
in 1921 it snowed in jerusalem - they've probably gotten snow since then, but the pics i have are from 1921. some of the damage to some of the photos is just as interesting to me as the actual pictures.
ww2 soviet women with guns - ladies with arms! i kinda love how so many of them are smiling, and i can't figure out if those are propaganda smiles or genuine "i get to fire a rifle and contribute to the war effort and it's actually really cool" smiles.
have some
current photos of iran. i know there are christian iranians, but the guy in the santa suit seems surreally out of place to me. the photos were taken by news agency photographers, so there's a certain amount of "this is what the government wants us/is allowing us to see", but there are still some interesting and quite pretty pictures.
