my god, it's full of stars (and things that don't reference 80s scifi movies)

can i freeze cream cheese? there's a brick of it in my fridge from like a month or so ago when i had a craving for red velvet cake, but i never actually made it, but the cream cheese is about to expire and i hate wasting it. so can i stick it in the freezer until i get my act together enough to bake, or is there a red velvet cake in my immediate future?

interactive smiley installation in berlin - it apparently measures the mood of the city and makes the appropriate face. kinda odd but also really cute. (via klgaffney's twitter)

planetscapes! - well, planets and moons and a couple constellations and the sun. super cool. pictures of jupiter's moon europa always make me think of the end of 2010 - all these worlds are yours except europa. attempt no landing there. use them together. use them in peace. and then you see the monolith on the surface, and then the scene fastforwards until there's plant life. that's the only thing i remember from the movie - and "my god, it's full of stars" - but to be fair i saw it a loooong time ago.
