have a cup of link soup

a small cup. three links.

mc escher reproduced in lego - not the artist, but the art. legos are very versatile that way.

tiny people, big world - also art, this time wee painted figurines (and i do mean wee) posed and photographed with random city street bits and pieces.

the scariest audio EVER, as recorded by someone hiding in a walk-in fridge in joplin on sunday. you can kind of sort of see some stuff at the beginning and end, but mostly it's a bunch of terrified people taking refuge from the tornado in what i think is a convenience store, and then having to run for the walk-in fridge when the windows get blown out.

(any time anyone mentions joplin for any reason i think of bonnie and clyde, because they had a shoot-out with cops there and left behind a camera containing among other images the famous one of bonnie smoking a cigar and holding a pistol with her foot on a car bumper, which was printed in american newspapers along with a poem she'd written, and that's about when people started paying attention. before that i don't think anyone outside greater dallas knew who they were or cared, but this tough-looking picture of clyde barrow's pretty gun moll and her poem that ended up on front pages all over the country captured everyone's attention.)

(coincidentally, yesterday was the anniversary of bonnie and clyde's death. twenty thousand people showed up for bonnie's funeral in dallas.)

bonnie & clyde, retronaut, photos, nature is awesome and kinda scary, legos
