happy birthdays to
buhfly and
finnygan and
mclachlan! humpday birthdays. :D this calls for hot men and cake! and glitter, because one can never have too much glitter until one has to vacuum it up.

the craft beer store across the street from my office has six-packs of watermelon ale in the window. ew?
really liked the chicago code on monday and am all excited for the (series!) finale. i'm bummed it didn't get renewed and reallyreallyreally hope the ptb don't cliffhang us with the finale. wasn't too impressed with h50 on account of too much forced plot and artificially-induced tension and too much character stupidity, but at least it's still a really pretty show and it kind of always had a tendency towards ridiculousness. and tonight is the criminal minds season finale and i'm kind of curious what they plan to do with the guest star. (oddly enough, for all my anti-spoiler tendencies, i don't mind being spoiled for cm.)
and thus and so ends the tv portion of the post. :D
last night i went to my parents' house for dinner so my mom could see my new car and i could drive her around in it - i think she liked it but i'm not 100% sure, but to be honest it doesn't really matter because it's my car and not hers - and on the way home i spent some quality time thinking about next year's bigbang and trying to work out how much i could plot now and how much has to wait until i've done some actual research. (one of the books i want is apparently out of print. yeesh.) i continue to be amused at myself that every new story idea i have is a historical one which means i need to do some reading first.
