earlier i was chatting with my bigbang artist on gchat - and she is COMPLETELY ADORABLE, seriously - and i had a moment when I FORGOT WHAT HAPPENED IN MY OWN FIC. oh my god, my flist, i am a GIANT DOOFUS

i didn't even think of dead like me! possibly because i only ever saw it in reruns on the scifi channel.... i would've happily watched another few seasons of it, tho. i mean, more daisy and mason and kiffany? bring it on. :D
I always got a kick out of Mason, and I have secret love for Kiffany (especially the episode where the Reaper are all doing their self-evaluations and trying to kibbitz with her).
I loved Delores, I enjoyed George, and Roxie always kind of cracked me up. The episode where the rageaholic loser thinks she's God is still one of my favorites! \o/
daisy grew on me, i admit. the episode where the gremlins take the day off and the reapers do paperwork and mason discovers her death sheet or whatever it's called, the details of how and where she died and what her last thoughts were ("will anyone love me", i think) made me like her more. possibly because i just felt really bad for her, and a lot of her persona seemed like a protective mask rather than who she really was. and i looooooved the self-evaluation episode. i loved that kiffany didn't seem to have much patience for their procrastination.
and roxie's rageaholic disciple! kevin durand. :D he does crazy and full of rage so well. (my favorite roxie moment is probably the one where all the meter readers leave the station house or whatever it was on their scooters, in homage to the opening credits of hill street blues.)
The Bell Witch, that almost brought a tear to my eye. I've had that conversation w/ K before, what monsters SHOULD they have hunted if the series had stayed on that route ...
There also has to be more pre-"american" lore out there, Indian and Mexican-Indian stuff, Maybe some Viking-era stuff on the East coast ...
it's what they started with! the woman in white is latin, the wendigo (altho it wasn't a great episode) is native american, they did robert johnson's deal with the devil, they met hh holmes' ghost.... even the vampires in dead man's blood were more redneck hicks than good-looking lestats. and then they bogged down in biblical angels and demons. hmph.
the us is so big and every region has its own stories, you'd think there would be enough for the ptb to mine for monsters, especially including north/central american indian myths. but no. they went the standard-supernatural-creature route instead. i mean, every "supernatural" or "paranormal" tv show/movie/whathaveyou has vampires and werewolves/shifters and angels and demons and random hellspawn. digging into american folklore and mythology is a little different. and interesting, because it's not the same thing over and over.
