oh god so many fried clams, but also fireworks, and my cousin recorded an album

a happy fourth of july to the americans in the audience! i hope you get fireworks if that's your thing, and that you can avoid them if it's not. :D

yesterday my parents and i went to gloucester (about forty minutes north of boston, and possibly familiar if any of you read the perfect storm or saw the movie, and also home to gorton's of frozen fish sticks fame) where i ate my body weight in fried clams and then we sat around and waited for the fireworks. which were very enjoyable, but i like fireworks, so. there were a bunch of rv's parked up and down the street. and tonight there are town fireworks in one of the towns near where my cousin with the four kids lives, so we're going to see those too. it's just one set of explosions after another around here. i'm ok with that.

my cousin is on itunes! (different cousin. :D ) search for becca rosenthal. her album's called out of the box and it's only six songs but to give you some perspective, she just graduated from high school and this was kind of her senior project. (the senior class gets like a month at the end of the year to do something real-worldy - one of her friends who's interested in being a doctor shadowed a neurologist. and my cousin who's really interested in music recorded an album.) it's kind of singer/songwriter girl-with-a-guitar-and-a-piano and her singing voice doesn't sound anything like her speaking voice and i'm super proud of her. check it out. :D

chicago's aqua tower - so who's going to wincon this year who wants to go into chicago with me and look at skyscrapers? :D this one's new and really interesting-looking.

photos of life during wartime - mostly pics from ww2, but there's also one from vietnam and one from korea.

photos, family fun, psa, architectural geekery, music
