i had to be at work an hour early this morning and for some reason losing that extra bit of sleep gave me a headache. >.< altho it's nothing that a good nap can't cure.
one of the things i really like about justified is that raylan can be really good at his job and also kind of a dumbass, and being good at his job doesn't give him a pass for his dumbassery. as the boss says, consequences, raylan. also i discovered on tuesday that timothy olyphant was one of the cops in gone in sixty seconds. he was delroy lindo's partner. i cannot tell you how many times i've seen that movie - and he gets one of my favorite lines! "you sure? 'cause you just went thru a wall" - and i didn't recognize him in justified. his voice is pretty much the same.... maybe it's the hat.
news in greater boston has been kind of centered around the water thing, with forays into the gulf oil spill and the times square bomber, so the only news i've gotten about the flooding in nashville is the occasional "to give $10, text REDCROSS to 90999" tweet. i don't know what kind of coverage it's getting in other parts of the us, and i didn't realize it's as bad as it is. they got three months' worth of rain in the space of two days.
the big picture has photos of the flooding. i used to live there. yes, it was years and years ago - the grand ole opry was still in ryman auditorium and opryland was an amusement park - and we moved when i was fourteen, but still, that's where i grew up. that used to be home. and seeing it underwater is heartbreaking.
if you can, help some folks out. nashville has always been and will always be the country music capital of the world, and more than that it's a good city and it's home to good people, and they could use some help.
