entirely random fic rec of the day: winter olympics day care au - in which kristi yamaguchi is the teacher for a room full of five-year-olds. stephane lambriel starts chattering in french when he gets excited, and shaun white is always climbing on things to jump off them (and the rest of the kids cannot stop touching his hair), and evan lysacek and johnny weir HATE EACH OTHER, and apolo ohno has a thing for cupcakes, and jr celski is like his bestest friend, and it is the cutest fucking thing i have read ALL YEAR and yes it does help to know who all these people are but if you do, read it. today - well, possibly last night - i got a random visual for a random character named jude. he's about average height, lanky, dark blond hair that could use a trim, likes to surf. very sweet, kind of a slacker, not the sharpest tack in the box. his mom had him when she was eighteen. she's a hippie and her parents are hippies but her grandmother was catholic, and she named her son after the patron saint of hopeless causes. (not that she thinks she was a hopeless cause, because she didn't. and she doesn't think her kid is hopeless either. but she liked the name.) jude's uncle, his mom's younger brother, taught him to surf when he was eight. he also likes skateboarding, but not as much. i have no idea what he does for money or where he lives - either with his moms (and yes, he does refer to her as "moms") or in a beach house with a bunch of friends. he really has no greater ambition than to catch some waves and hang out with his buddies and just... be. and i have no idea what to do with him.
28. Have you ever written a character with physical or mental disabilities? Describe them, and if there's nothing major to speak of, tell us a few smaller ones.
