i just went outside without my coat. that was not the smartest thing i've done all day.

happy birthdays to missmp (mommy, writer, sharer of links to cool shoes) and beanside (wife, writer, ferryer of dogs to good homes)! we have cupcakes and cold weather more cupcakes! and the occasional pound of glitter. :D

first batch of holiday cards went out yesterday. no telling when the rest of them will be done, other than "before 2010". i know i'm going to forget someone. if you get a holiday card from someone named cindy from somerville, ma, that's me.
(what? i never know how many people on lj only associate me with my username and don't know my real name, and i don't generally expect everyone to know where i live.)
criminal minds did not tape for me last night, or rather it did tape in the sense that something recorded for an hour. it just wasn't an actual broadcast. my cable went all-digital and evidently hooking up the required digital cable box fucks with the vcr's ability to receive transmissions. so i'll download it and watch it tonight. maybe as a reward for writing more holiday cards....
i seem to have killed my porch plants by the simple act of bringing them inside - i didn't want them to freeze - i've been trying and failing for several days to write commentfic for youraugustine and othercat but it's been so long since i've written anything that i no longer know what i'm likely to write that they're likely to enjoy, i haven't been able to write anything else either, i woke up with a headache which is probably fair since i went to bed with it, and really all i want to do is take a nap. for a couple hours.
on the plus side, i got some nice holiday cards and it's really sunny out, and i don't actually mind that it's windy and cold. it's december in boston, it's supposed to be cold. and last night i saw a greyhound wearing a coat and little booties. the booties were really cute.
