things what i learned from blogathon

(in case i want to do it again next year and need a reminder of what it was like the first time.)

a. i really, really, really need to go grocery shopping the day before to get snacks and stuff for meals that i can cook/assemble in between posting. i'm pretty sure the grocery store i usually go to is open twenty-four hours, but i wasn't particularly interested in leaving the house at four in the morning to find out.

b. my brain will pass out from exhaustion a lot sooner than i will.

c. i will nod off a couple times between five and seven, and after that i'll be fine.

d. my wireless does indeed reach the back porch, and more importantly the power cord for my laptop will stretch from the kitchen, so i can sit outside for more than two hours. this is good to know.

e. did i mention the thing about stocking up on food? i wasn't in any danger of going hungry, i mean i still had cereal and cheese and deli meat and a bagel and tunafish and whatever, but i like a little variety in my snacking.

oh my stars and garters, i raised $225. O.O i think that's the most i've raised for any charity ever. neat! thank you, everyone who sponsored me. *smooches all around*

i was pretty brainfried yesterday, but i did manage to take a shower and get dressed and leave the house and see public enemies, which i enjoyed altho i didn't have the first clue who probably half the characters were (is this a new trend, to not have anyone call anyone else by name, so you can't tell who played who when you're watching the credits?), and i'm not quite sure what story michael mann was trying to tell. it definitely ended at the end, but it felt kind of like it started in the middle, and sometimes it felt like a love story with a gangster story tacked on, and sometimes like a gangster story with a love story tacked on, and sometimes like a biopic and sometimes like a history of the fbi and sometimes like pure fiction. but i expected to like it and i did, and really that's all i ask. plus i loved the music.

and i realized something about my bank robbers story, namely that the gang will probably have to have more than four people. even the barrow gang was more than bonnie and clyde and clyde's brother and sister-in-law, and they didn't go into cities the size of chicago to knock over banks. i don't want a cast of thousands! or even a cast of ten.

next on the list are (500) days of summer (which i've already seen, but whatever) and the hurt locker. i might even be able to get my sister to go to at least one of those with me.

i woke up with a headache and can't get rid of it, which makes me cranky. i'm also supposed to have submitted something for writing group and haven't. we meet the day after tomorrow and i'm not sure what to tell people, other than i have nothing to show them. i think this is generally considered a big fat FAIL. which also makes me cranky.
