the guy playing teen!dean actually kinda looks like jensen. nifty. and he's wearing the jacket. i miss the jacket.

(knee socks!) (and did you catch that the actual gym teacher is off in massachusetts getting married? i guess the lesbian gym teacher is too much of a cliche to pass up....)
so, what, is this whole episode going to be about the loser kids getting revenge on the jocks? with bonus high school winchesters? i'm always down for some flashback scenes. and high school is as good a place as any to find a violently angry spirit, because high schoolers can be vicious.

"i want to be normal" - this can't be the first time sammy felt that way. but you can totally see adult!sam in wee!sam. the angryface he makes at, uh, dirk? after dirk punches him in the hallway. that's definitely an angrysam face.
y'know, i find it kind of hard to believe sammy in high school would write the truth about hunting and pass it off as nonfiction.
"do you want to go into the family business, sam?" "no one's ever asked me that before." - it is entirely possible that it never occurred to him to do anything else besides hunting, and even if he didn't really want to save people and hunt things, he never would've thought he could do anything else. and all of a sudden this teacher says hey, you can go your own way, you can forge your own path. from such small seeds are giant family rifts grown.

it's not barry who's the spirit, it's dirk. i bet the bus is haunted. ooooooor dirk's dad is doing something....
wee!sammy has two advantages over you, dirk - a. his anger which gives him strength, and b. his brother who taught him some moves.
so now dirk is taking revenge on everyone who taunted him when he was in high school? and because sam managed to win a fight against him and give him a mean nickname, dirk was miserable until he od'ed? i guess all it takes is one kid to stand up to a bully for everyone else to follow.
"i'm like 21 jump street." HEE.
that's really funny he thinks sam and dean were jocks and popular kids and bullies. how very ironic. and sam's totally right - high school sucks, but you get through it and you grow up and things get better. and if he's telling you things get better? they do.
altho maybe things didn't stay better for him....
