today's dog sightings:
a woman being walked (well, being run) by a very enthusiastic yellow lab
a guy in sweatpants and a baseball cap holding a yorkie which was wearing a little sweater and had a red ribbon in its hair
it was the ribbon that got me.
i haven't really had lunch and i'm kind of hungry but i don't have the patience to go out and buy lunch and have to wait for it to be made. wait, i think there's a granola bar in my purse. *goes to look* oh smart, there is. i bought them to take to wincon, because you never know when you're going to need a snack, but i mostly ate them in the airport. (i have two plans for wincon next year. one is to make something for the raffle, most likely a book like
the one i made
maygra for sweet charity, or like
apiphile's
buttsex bible. (i love that she calls it that.) except blank. and the other is to bring the best chocolate cookies ever ever for the registration table. because they are the best chocolate cookies ever ever and easier to pack than a pie. also you don't need to heat them up or refrigerate them.)
have some links:
british library cd's - recordings of british and american writers and playwrights talking. is this a fabulous idea, or what? (from the inestimable
officialgaiman)
stars make music - stars-in-the-sky stars. recorded by scientists using a big french telescope. really, really cool. the globular cluster sounds like an orchestra. (from
goshawk)
london at night, seen from above - there's the gherkin! and big ben! and the thames! and a random rotary! roundabout, whatever! (from
buhfly)
i think i've changed my mind about what to do for nanowrimo. i don't know. if you start writing something november 1 and then two days later hate it and totally change your mind, can you start over with a new novel?
