curling. meme again.
my first curling match was last night and now it looks like someone punched me in both kneecaps. but they don't hurt! which is good. curling is fun and exhausting and i think i'm going to like it. i couldn't do it more than once a week, tho. (there are some people who belong to four leagues. four games a week. i think they're crazy.)

(words to live by, man) i said this was a good icon and notthequiettype said i could take it, so i did. :D it's mostly a "don't harsh my buzz" kind of icon, for when you're, say, babbling all over yourself about your favorite tv show and how much you loved the most recent episode, and someone comes along and drops some buzzkill on you. it's more stern than just "hey, dude, don't harsh my squee." and it reminds me a little of my dad jokingly telling me or my sister to watch our fucking language.

once upon a time wrenlet wrote 8100 words of au flight of the phoenix fic which i had the great pleasure of enabling the hell out of reading (in a lot of short installments) while it was being written. also i attempted to help plot. let me stress "attempted" as neither of us is particularly fond of the plotting process. the icon came from some email or other that i sent her, and mostly references the fact that if you watch the movie you can tell that davis and rodney were SO doing it, and the purpose of lj is to write the smutty bits that they obviously couldn't put on film. it's kind of like the slasher's prayer. i don't use this one a lot, probably because it was so specific....

(now ephemera) ephemera made me a bunch of cupcake icons and this was the one i liked the best. i use it for birthday posts, because everyone should have cake for their birthday.

i'm pretty sure i have this because karenbear did one of those "i'll pick an interest and make you an icon" meme, and one of my interests is - surprise :> - "boys in kilts". altho this guy is more of a man in kilt.... but still. i use it if the situation warrants some guy flashing a lot of arm and chest and sporran.

stone is one of the heroes (quote-unquote) of stone_and_fen, one of kammy's, uh, well, i'll call it a "story" for lack of any better ideas. he's a character/muse/brainperson/whathave you - a short punkass elf with really long ears. he's very cute and someday he'll be king. the icon is a chibi him and i cut it out of a much bigger drawing with a whole bunch of kammy's other characters on it. i like stone. stone is a dork. sometimes i'm a dork too, or someone else is, and then this comes in handy.

(ephemera made me a roo with vinyl pants!) ru is one of mine. he has a dead lj at runeden, a tag with all of one entry in it, and a mess of posts in my memories. he's a person, not a winnie-the-pooh roo (of kanga and...) but he does wear leather pants and has eleven facial piercings, and ephemera made him for me for... i don't remember. i do know it was a while ago. he sits on my desk at home, and isn't he cute? i use this when i write about him, which isn't very often.

jack o'neill and danieljackson, from stargate sg-1. i was only ever a half-assed jack/daniel slasher but i do think they're very cute together and i really like their relationship. and somehow i became possessed of a slashy jack/daniel icon, for use in sg-1 posts. which i don't make any more, as the show has gone off the air. but i still keep this around, because it's cute.
