Packages!!!

So I finally got all my packages, and right in the nick of time too. Got my last expected package right now. The bad news for that is that I have to pack it somehow, lol. I think I was underestimating how many boxes of crafts I have. I kept thinking "I'll be able to squish two boxes into one" for a lot of them, but I didn't take my packages into ( Read more... )

I got the package today and I'm in awe of your awesomeness (is that a word?) but I love the scarf it's so soft, warm, and pretty. So very very pretty and mind boggling! How did you make the colors zig-zag like that? It's so cool and my mom was so jealous of it's prettiness. I loves it!

Ahem. Any way, I've been pretty busy these last couple of weeks doing spring cleaning and doing prep work for the new menu. We're mostly going with a French and Japanese styled menu with a few additional things too. Although I'm kind of sad too since my friend Shawna who works the line with me is leaving for the summer to work at a camp. She's doing it for the money and the days she gets to work so I can't blame her, but I'll be the only girl in the kitchen again. *screams in horror* It's scary mostly though, since I have to keep an eye on the chef and the grillers now more than ever. Mostly due to the fact it's a new menu but also because even though the chef designed the menu he doesn't always remember what else has to go on the dish. Yesterday he forgot to add pesto and butter to the one dish and it caught on fire because the cook left it in too long. *headdesk* But other than that I've been trying to crochet some blankets for my cousins new babies. And yes there are two of them both expecting around the same time and what's even funnier is that they are sisters. One has no trouble with pregnacy (the younger sister) and the other (older by a year) is sick as a dog. So I promised to make baby blankets for them. Other than that not much else has happened.

I would love to see the fabrics you bought for quilting. When you start it's sometimes good to get a book to reference out of at first so things are broken down into steps. I can get some titles of books you can look through if you want. I think they'll help you. ^_^

Wow, that was quick. I guess I'm just used to sending packages around Christmas season and that always takes forever, lol. The colour changing is in the yarn itself, I didn't do anything special, but I played around with the width a tiny bit to see how the colours would cluster. It worked itself out pretty easily. I have to admit I now love that yarn and wish I had bought more. Maybe in 2 years' time after I get rid of some of the stuff I have at home, lol. I'm extra happy you love it = ) !!!

(any way I could get you to take piccies? perhaps with a Jessica in them?)

Lol, I'd say a menu is pretty exciting, coupled with the loss of your friend Shawna. Heehee, do they treat you overtly like a girl in the kitchen? I haven't been in an "only girl" situation in a long time. Very much meep about the chef and the new menu. I hope it hasn't caused any major problems.

Oooh, baby blankets, that's soo cute. I ought to make some (less daunting than a full-sized afghan, lol) but I don't have anyone to make it for. Be sure to take some piccies and show me when you're done = )

I'll have to unpack some more before I can take piccies for you. It's actually a panel, and then we're quilting rectangles around it, so it's simpler than simple (yes, we decided not to do a billion quilted blocks, lol). But since neither of us have done it before, if you could give some pointers and if you have those book names on hand, that would be totally awesome. Thanks so much!!!
