An Incredible Sense of Timing

With a houseful of people and the legal one deployed, I run into a medical situation...

I have one hell of a pinched nerve in my neck. It is pinched to the point where I am losing feeling in my little finger of my right hand and my shoulder is constantly tight. To make a long story short, back in 2000 I dislocated my shoulder. Right outside our apartment building in Germany was a cement track which circumnavigated the helicopter flight line, this is where I was rollerblading one afternoon. I had turned around and was skating backwards (Ok... stop laughing, I am not a complete klutz, just mostly klutzy) to wave to a friend who was driving on the opposite side. Well, when I lift my arm to wave, I fell backwards. I managed to get my hands down to catch myself but I caught myself at a crazy angle which caused the shoulder dislocation. Apparently, at the same time because I fell at a crazy angle, I also caused 2-3 micro fissures in my C3 and C4 vertebra which were never diagnosed. Well, those have healed and healed in a rather disgusting way as to cause pressure on the major nerve bundle for my right arm/hand.

Problem: The doc who is "really great with necks" is deployed-opposite side of the war as the legal one. And since I've lived with this for 9 years now, they are comfortable with waiting for him to return. They are sending him all the pictures and if he says it needs to be done sooner rather than later, I will be farmed out to the civilians here in town. If not, I'll wait until he can assess the situation personally. Until I hear back from him, I'm stuck in this crazy mixed up world where everyone is treating me like a child.

I'm not a happy camper. The doctor put me on a breathe at my own pace profile (military speak for limiting movement due to injury or illness) which means I now have to depend on my family and friends who are staying here to do the things I can't. I also made the mistake of giving the full extent of what was happening so now I'm being yelled at for picking stuff up like a gallon of milk because its more than 5 lbs.
