Crossover Rant

First off, I don't hate crossovers. Done well, I think they are a great way of getting characters together from different fandoms and a great way to increase action IF WRITTEN WELL. For example, a crossover like Stargate SG-1/JAG makes sense. Secret military project, military police; it works. Crossovers such as SG-1/Farscape, or SG-1/Firefly or even SG-1/Star Wars are a little harder to believe, and therefore need a really good author to pull off. What makes NO SENSE to me, and is a personal pet peeve, is SG-1/Harry Potter crossovers. I find it so far out in left field, even a good writer has a hard time keeping my interest, and believe me, I read many things that makes those with lesser hearts squicky so that's not an issue. Maybe it's just the inherent problems with mixing a fandom based heavily in science with it's antithesis, one based heavily in magic. Who knows? Got an opinion? Leave it.
