A silly joke I'll drag out for the ESL-guy: Oblivia Suttherly is a word play on her astounding innocence in that she's "oblivious... utterly."
I like and liked Northemann, and I don't even remember why we fell out. I remember he seemed driven by a paranoia against certain people in the company he felt threatened by, and I cannot recall ever seeing any grounds for it. He may have seen another side to them 'behind closed doors' during meetings or whatever.
I think my most favorite memory of him is on top of Schauinsland in the westering sun: a gust of wind took that precious little coil of long hairs he wrapped about the dome of his pate to give the impression of not-baldness. He ducked and swept with his free arm to retrieve them to their proper seat.
It was he and I alone and iirc we'd gone out there so he could show it to me (so I could 'look into the land'). I took a lot of trips like that with him and his family. Die Rodelbahn, auch mit Wildschwein, bitte!
A friend of mine is taking a Euro vacation this year. I'm sorely tempted.
