Oh my, little girls these days. On the Tyra Banks show they're talking about fashion with young girls (I know this doesn't apply to all young girls) and the outfits that they're wearing are outrageous! They showed a thong from a website aimed to sell things at 12 year olds, it was see through and said "bite me". Honestly.. Then they brought in, I think it was 6 girls, the youngest was 4, and they were picking out short skirts and tank tops that said "sexy" and the four year old had a shirt that said "single and free". And all of them thought that in order to be sexy, you needed to show skin. And they said that they liked to dress like The Pussy Cat Dolls, and that if you're wearing a skirt, when you sit down you should lift up your skirt a little to show some leg.
Oh... My... God.
I grew up like a tom boy, I think that was because I really only had friends that were boys growing up. Girls never got along with me (I was bullied by alot of them). And I don't even think I really noticed the difference between Ivan and I, since we both liked the same things. And now I look at the girls growing up, I can't believe it. The things they know at a young age.
Now, I have no problem with older people dressing a certain way, once they are an adult, it's their choice. And I'm not saying an adult dressing like that is a bad thing. You can't judge a book by it's cover. My problem is with kids getting dressed up like that and carrying a very sexual attitude. And tv and magazines are most definitely influencing these kids.
What's this thing with male attention? I don't really understand it. This girl said that since her father was away, she could act as wild as she wanted too. Hahaha, my mom would have beat my ass if I acted that way. I think mothers need to step up (Not all moms are like this, but there is a fine line between being a friend and a parent). Why should a father be more respected then a mother? Now, I never realized I didn't have a father until I was around 10 or so, and I've still never met him or talked to him. But I've never craved male attention. But maybe that's because I've had a few problems with some males in my life.
Now there's an 11 year old who likes to call women sluts and his father takes him in the car and they whistle at women. The father also says things like "Whoa, look at her knockers!" to him. Honestly, what about that screams good idea? If some kid called me a slut, I'd be dragging him (or her) to their house to see where he learned that from.
Wait, and 10$ says the "popular game" that the kid likes since you can hit women, is Grand Theft Auto. I like that game, but for 11 year olds? Come on. Even though I was allowed to play games like that at that age, I grew up ok, but this generation is different, apparently.
Wow. I'm officially old. I'm complaining about the younger generation.
In other news: I am getting the Pearl version of Pokemon. Ivan wanted the Rare Pokemon that governed time, and I like the space one better.
Now I'm going to play with my hair and figure out what all those hair products do. It's funny that growing up I never cared about any of that, and I still really don't, it just looked kind of fun.
Oh wow, there's a girl on the show who is 8 years old who is already going through puberty! She's 5 feet already.. I'm only 5'2.. I feel so.. so.. short :\
EDIT (for great Pokemon justice!): In case anyone was wondering about the game specific Pokemon in Diamond and Pearl, it can be found
here.
