Epilogue

A year and six months later

“Seriously, this is my graduation treat?”

Kei chuckles at the pout on the younger boy’s face.

“Hey, there is no place like home,” he states flicking the other’s forehead and then laughing as the other clutches the spot in pain.

“You psycho that hurts!” exclaims Daisuke with a scowl.

“Oh come on Dai-chan, there is no need to be so grumpy, we’re in Okinawa! The sun, the sand, the sea…what better way to spend some time with your best friends?”

Daisuke gives a sideway glare to Ken who replies with an impish smile.

“Well whatever, call the waiter I’m hungry,” he says finally leaning back into his seat. Kei holds up a hand, attracting the attention of a young man who had been taking orders a few tables down.

“I have this like really weird feeling like I’ve been here…recently,” Daisuke muses.

“Really?” Ken asks surprised. Daisuke nods.

“I dunno, my heads been really messed up ever since that fall back at the university,”

“Yeah, you hit your head pretty hard…I mean you were in a coma for 6 months, that’s no joke,” Ken adds. Kei ignores the two, eyes fixed upon the approaching waiter, a small smile on his face.

“To top it up I graduated late because of my absence, you guys must have been really bored without me huh?”

“You have no idea,” Ken replies putting down his menu and smiling at the waiter.

“Pick me your best dish,” he says and the young man nods, jotting down their orders in silence. Daisuke finds himself staring at his boyish face and pretty eyes, finding it a little too familiar. He stops and looks away embarrassed when the boy looks down at him, confused.

“So, we’re home for good now aren’t we?” Daisuke muses as the waiter walks away, handing the order to the lady behind the counter before snatching a box of pocky from her hands.

“You worried about the dinner with your dad and his family tomorrow?” asks Ken.

“Well, yeah…I mean he brought Sayuri and their son to the hospital in London when I woke from my coma and they were very nice to me so I can’t really decline now,”

“They were all very worried, your dad specially,”

“Well, yeah…I know,”

Ken ruffles the other’s hair before yelping as the other retaliated with much vigour. Kei sighs as he watches the young waiter settle upon a stool by the counter and busy himself with a notebook and pencil. He notices Kei’s gaze and looks back at him, a wide smile adorning his healthy face.

Kei smiles back.

“Ruka!”

The young waiter jumps at the call, dropping his book onto the floor before launching himself towards the kitchen. Instinctively Kei gets to his feet and rushes to pick the book up. A dried flower stem slips from between its pages and Kei blinks at the sight of the black rose upon the floor.

When blood taints the black rose, it’s the puppeteers will…

The End

A/N: Yes, this is the end. I might do a revision on the time periods and all but this is how the story ends. For members watching my community and those who have me added on facebook I will be posting up my notes on the story and the way it ended. Things left vague will be cleared in it. Feedback will help me add to the list of things I would be talking about in my notes. The style of the ending though is to tease the readers' imagination and their understanding of the story so do share your thoughts with me. Thank you so much for following the creepiest story I have written so far. Your patience, love and motivation has driven me forward in all my writing endeavours.
