(no subject)
Sorry for the kind of emo post last time! I think it was hard for me to watch the footage pretty much all day everyday knowing there was nothing I could do. I went back to what I used to do and stopped watching the news on it (mostly because it's all only about the possible nuclear meltdown).
Anyway, it was my birthday today! I took the day off work and got to spend the day with my family. It was actually really nice!. So I'm just going to do a pic post.
I slept in this morning and when I got out into the living room, the table was completely filled with presents. There was a basket with Japanese snacks, and several other presents. Ami cut out pics of Asher (who is my cat) and pasted them on the presents.
In case you didn't know, I adore Asher. He is like my baby. He was originally a foster but I grew very attached to him. He was my birthday present last year.
This was one of my presents. I fell in love with this artwork when I first went to Diamonds Coffee Shoppe. They had it for sale on the wall with a couple other awesome pieces by the same artist. I almost bought it the day I saw it but hesitated and instead asked for it for my birthday.
This was another present. It's a very cute purse and it has a large pink bow. Sadly the camera couldn't get the color right.
I love the cute box my presents came in. This came with cute pink to-do list paper and two cards. One from my sister and one from "Asher".

These were the pics that were taped all over my presents. They were all very cute. I was not expecting that when I woke up.
These were probably my favorite gifts overall. My sister and mom took pics of Asher and made canvas art of them. I really wanted some stuff to hang on my walls once I was done decorating my room. I love these because they are so personalized.
The basketful of snacks I got. I'm definitely going to be eating a lot of sugar the next couple of days.

I wanted to go to Saji-Ya and Cupcake for my birthday. At Saji-Ya I was torn between yakiniku don and the tonkatsu curry. Luckily I was able to get both. I ate the yakiniku at Saki-Ya and brought the curry home. Plus I also got some fried green tea ice cream since it was my birthday. I don't like green tea ice cream but it was amazing. It's like it was surrounded by cake.
Then there was Cupcake which I wanted to try for awhile now. Sadly I was not very impressed. Most of their cupcakes were ones you could find everywhere. We did however get 6 different ones.
A pistachio, a boston cream pie, a raspberry, a cookies and cream, peanut butter cup and a pumpkin spice cupcake.
I'm going to steal some of the pics my sister took.
Since we were unimpressed we went to Sweets which was nearby. I tried them for the first time 2 weeks ago and they had really amazing cupcakes. They had one with bacon last time which was actually amazing.
There were actually a dozen total. The kinds we got were 2 vanilla, 2 peanut butter cup, 1 kettle korn, dreamsicle, black & white, spicy chocolate, mint, thyme honey walnut, salty caramel, and triple chocolate.
I had a lot of fun!
I'm going to try updating LJ more often. I feel like I almost never update this thing.
There are probably millions of spelling mistakes in this post but I'm too tired to go over it now.
