:D My day!

Nov 01, 2005 20:47

This morning at around 12pm or so I got an itch to visit our local antique mall and thrift stores.  Decided on going, whether it be alone or with a friend, I called my "twin" and made arangements to pick her up.  She had an interview at the thrift store at 3 so we had a good two or three hours to screw around and shop.  Our first stop was the Antique Mall!  I removed my cell phone from my purse before placing it in the provided locker and we began our trip about the mall.  Our first discovery was this lovely painting that screamed lolita just because of her clothing.

After a small decision that I would like an old brush and mirror set (HINT HINT) we started down the first row of booths where we came across many a decorative chair.  How we wantd to sit in them but no... they were all roped off just so we couldn't.  T.T  But, that was alright.  We soon stumbled apon a large booth of hats.  ^-^  Mandi looks great in Russian hats and most any hat with volume rather then fitting.  See?

Through the store we trecked until we came apon our beloved booth. The booth that would drive a 5 year old girl into insanity.  I call it the dress up booth, with its multitude of furr and foux furr coats, purses both new and vintage, hats that ranged from bouler caps to beretes (sp?) to large hats covered in flowers to half caps one would have worn to church and the many lolita like accessories it is hard to think of it as anything besides just that, a dress up party waiting to happen.

In the back my eyes were captivated by a long black velvet coat with a very aristcratic like collar.  ^.^

It as sadly just an inch or too short of being my size, but it fit Mandi with room to spare.  It was a set price of $35.oo if I remember correctly, but I have a bad memory so the more reasonable prices I tend to forget.  ^^'

Further down the isle we came apon a lamp that made me go O.O  *Snaps a picture*  I wonder what size bulb it took.

Then we got to out other kawaii booth.  So much pink and white, plus a singer sewing machiene that was set up too look as though someone was sewing and got up for a moment.  ^.^  They had on a white cart, a few fake deserts that looked so delicious!

Further into the store we came across an apron of red and white with a poodle on the pocket.  I'm a goof and I had to try it on.  ^.O  It didn't go with my bondage pants and shirt so I left it behind.

And the poodle on the pocket...

Next we came across a few vintage wedding dresses and I tried on the veil... ^.^  Too may hangy things for my tastes.

In the tea cup booth we found a coat draped over a chair.  It was heavy velvet and floor length on Mandi.  The hood was lined with furr and the little gold buttons looked great on the front.  It was a size medium and cost $200.00 plus tax.  We didn't buy it but if anyone is interested, let me know.  ^^

Next we found a long dress made by Gunnies.  It was absolutely gorgious and it was $25.oo but unfortunately it was too small for our Mandi and thus would NEVER have fit me.

In that same booth we located a lacy pettycoat...

AND a blue and white apron (There are a multitude of aprons there so if your looking for anything in specific, let me know and I'll see what I can do.)  Finally we neared the end of the store, where we ended up at the greatest booth the store has to offer, I managed to pictures of this black lace capulet and this blue and white frilled shirt before my phone died and we had to head home to retrieve the car charger.

We headed home and grabbed my charger and some Halloween chocolate.  Dad made me throw away my pumpkin...

Then we headed to the thrift store for Mandi's Interview (GOOD LUCK!).  While she did her best, I made my way around the store and found (and bought) a great vintage coat that could be dated late 60's early 70's and holds with it a very Mary Tyler Moore feel.  The buttons and collar were the best part so I snapped a few photos and continued on with my search for great finds.

To the back of the store I went, my new coat folded over my arm and I found a hat the screamed "Buy me!".  It was a baby hat but it sits perfectly on my head and it was only $1.49.  MINE!

Mandi returned and SHE GOT THE JOB!!  YAY!!  Time to celebrate with Chinese food!

So much I couldn't eat it all.  :D  Finally we went home and I snapped a few pictures of a basket that my boss gave me.  ^.O  It was just so cute I couldn't say no.

And that was my day

The end.
