*hums brahms lullaby*

Because Smudge has apparently been delegated to my responsibility, this means he spends the night with me.

...

I've gotten maybe about 7-8 hours of sleep since friday night. I had a nap yesterday but it didn't really help because it was waaaay way too hot and I dozed for about half an hour while the bird nibbled at my feet and resisted all absent kicking attempts to make him stop.

I am so tired.

Smudge spends half his time playing, and half his time sleeping, and a few minutes of each half is dedicated to eating/drinking/bathroom activities. Also, he sleeps on your chest. And in the curve of your neck. and sometimes on your shoulders. He doesn't like being alone, so he doesn't sleep on the floor or in his little box thingy. Ever.

What this generally means is that he sleeps with me, on my bed.

Him being so small, this makes me sleepless for two reasons- 1, I am convinced if I fall asleep I will squash him. This has no reasonable motive, because even if I do slightly doze off and move the slightest bit, I wake up and jerk to see that he remains unsquashed.

2, If he is in the sleeping half, you wake him up, and he will go automatically to the playing half. So if he is lying on you, you are trapped in one position because if you move, he will wake up, and if he wakes up, you will have to entertain him or he makes these continuous squeaks (omg still so cute) which make me think I am squashing him. Even if he's not on the bed. I don't know how this is.

BUT! Tonight, I have a plan. My head REALLY hurts and I'm so so tired, but I'm going to make him sleep in his box. I will pet him until he cannot help it. And then be very quiet moving onto my bed which will belong in it's entirety to me again!

In spite of the sleepless nights and catbite marks I have gracing my arms, legs, hands, and feet, I still ♥ him muchly. He is a lot more active now than he was the first day. He doesn't quite stalk the bird. They are still at an impasse most of the time.

Also, his eye is looking MUCH better. :D

smudge, kitten!
