.........y'know sometimes i have a serious-tsuyoshi type feeling, if the only thing we have in common is that our best friends are better in everything we do. *sighs deeply* but it's pointless to relate to celebrities, so let us waste our time in doing memes!

1. Please tell us your Hand Name (name that’s used ONLY in internet.) and hometown.

tsu_, Singapore (do we even have hometowns?)

2. About how long is your history as a Lolita?
Since 2003/2004, about 3~4 years

3. What first motivated you to do Lolita fashion?
Hmmm...sakky? I really started to fall in love when I saw Rococo 1# and they showed the black alice chess skirt coordinated with a bunny cape.

4. After knowing Lolita fashion, have you had any time-gap or resistance till you actually started to be Lolita?
I actually knew about it in my anime/jrock/cosplay days (when I was 12~13) and I remember seeing my first lolita - she was wearing this gold handmade outfit and I asked the n00best question of all "what are you cosplaying as?" and that was in the FIRST streetfest, like when I was 13 (which would be 2001). I only started wearing when in 2005 though.

5. Please define your Lolita style as much as possible. (eg. gothic Lolita, sweet Lolita, white Lolita…. Etc).
hahaha....here I'm going to borrow kuro 's line: "cute style!"  seriously though, I like casual sweet-influenced with quirky prints and good tailoring.

6. About how many Lolita friends do you have?
Offline.....maybe 2 or 3, I don't really know many lolitas IRL since I'm kinda dorky. Online I seem cooler and stuff (since no one can hear my bad wordpuns) so around 10? No idea really. Better go ask my friendslist whether they really like me.

7. What is the best thing about doing Lolita?
......WHERE ELSE CAN YOU FIND PRINTS ON TEXAS MEN?! :D okay jane marple aside, I love how lolita focuses so much on aesthetics.

8. Conversely, what's the worst thing?
Because even though lolita is a fashion on being beautiful, doesn't mean that people behave in a beautiful manner as well. LOLZ. Actually I don't find it too terrible anymore, especially since I ditched egl comn off my friends' list

9. Which Lolita Brands do you like?
Quite a lot, but most of them aren't really "lolita" in the strictest sense. Fairywish, Emikyu, Jane Marple, MILK and an occasional impluse for Angelic Pretty. I really like Moitie, but I think I don't suit it very well *crosses fingers* hopefully it'll get better!

10. What was the first Lolita item that you’ve owned?
maneki neko OP in wine. I love it to death, and I STILL love it to death. Brand-wise, VM:Beth's alice trump OP in pink, but it wasn't me so I sold it and got the alice chess skirt in black (like the first time I saw it in rococo!<3) and that feels more like the "first item" than anything else.

11. What is the “must have!” Lolita item?
Something that you love. I used to think that "oh I must have such-such to match perfectly" but after moving out and doing an overhaul, I think the most important item is something that you love. It doesn't really matter what it is - a skirt, a minihat, a pair of socks - but you must love and cherish it.

12. Do you wear drawers?
hell no. I wear boxer shorts under my skirts. MANLY AND STRONG LEGS plz.

13. Do you have any favourite Japanese music?
Dir en Grey before they sucked, Johnny's Entertaintment's bland unthreatening pop based on Sex and Retardation (courtesy of KAT-TUN) and Shounen Knife, because I like to listen to people sing about food.

14. Where do you particularly visit as Lolita?
You mean like.....most often? I guess the university and supermarket then, since I'm always running out of ginger choc cookies. It's great to be casual lolita, less particular.

15. About how many times per week do you dress as Lolita?
Depends on my mood and workload. If it's deadline-week, it's jeans everyday but if not - maybe 3 or 4 times a week.

16. Please tell us about one embarrassing episode from the time when you were just beginning Lolita.
I asked a lolita if she was a cosplayer. Hey! I was 13! lol.......thinking about it makes me giggle now though.

17. What's hairstyle and color that you think Lolita would suite the most?
I really like the soft curls thing, but I kinda suck at hair-curling. I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll just burn my fingers and drop it on my toes.

18. Have you ever thought of stopping Lolita? The reason?
Sometimes....mainly because it's not very widely accepted in the social circles where my parents move in and I worry about being recognized and stuff and causing trouble for other people. But then, I thought better not borrow trouble and just let things be......plus, it helps that I wear more emikyu, so it's less flashy.

19. Please tell us your heart's bible as a Lolita. (anything like a book, magazine, CD, idol...)
I don't really think about it......it's like, I'm a person first and foremost and lolita is just merely an aspect of my personality so it's kinda pointless isn't it? I just wear it and feel comfortable in it.

20. Do you own a doll? Tell us your feelings about her intensely!
Nope. I'm scared of dolls actually, too many scary stories. I have a 20 year old teddy bear though, aptly named "bearbear". He's old, his fluffing is mostly gone, I've resewn his arm and back a dozen times and he's kinda grey and dingy looking now - but I still love him most. He's been through the best and the worst of my life, especially the difficult times when I was a kid. That said, people please stop giving me soft toys. It's not that I don't appreciate it, but that I'm pretty much faithful to bearbear only.

21. What kind of make-up do you wear when you wear Lolita clothes?
Allergic to makeup D: I wear sunscreen and strawberry lip balm though

22. Have you ever secretly changed clothes in a train station bathroom on Lolita day-out?
nope.

23. Are you composed when doing Lolita all by yourself?
hahaha yeah, definitely.

24. How much do you spend in your Lolita clothes& accessary monthly?
Suprisingly not a lot. Basically what I do is set up a seperate account for spending/saving, and once the "spending" portion runs out, I just don't spend. That way, I can control my spending.

25. What is the most expensive Lolita thing you've bought so far? How much was it?
I'll tell you if I get it.

26. So far about how much has the expense been for Lolita goods?
Less than what people think, more than I want it to be. BUT IT'S OKAY. because I love you, y/y?

27. Lolita outfit really costs money. How do you raise money to cover the cost of
Lolita?
Difficult to explain. I work in short bursts (like 3 month contracts) then with that money, I save some and invest the rest in stocks, shares, bonds and other funds. During university I don't work and just manage via careful buying and reselling items that don't fit me. That way, I'm almost never short of cash but I can still buy almost whatever I want in a reasonable manner. It's all about balance y'see? A while back, my last boss told me this: "[finance] is not about money, but making sure that everything goes to zero." Good advice for those who understand it.

28. Have you ever bought from an online store? If so, please tell us its good and bad points and some advice for the future. If not, please tell us why not.
Yep. Nice to surf and waste time online and deliberate endlessly on it, plus the feeling of waiting and finally getting it is unbeatable. Not cool because of the fees, the shipping and the agonizingly inefficient Auspost.

29. Even please clandestinely tell us about a private manufacturer that is the best.
The best panniers for classic/casual lolita is by a y!j s if you sort of want to keep it a secret, eller called furi furi pannie which you can find by searching "pannier" (write in katakana plz) on y!j. It's only 22bucks too.

30. Is there a brand and/or an item that you think, "I could never get it! But I unreasonably want it!"?
BTSSB stained glass series. It seriously doesn't fit anything I own, nor do I actually like the cut of ANY of their skirts/dresses......but I want it D: unreasonable yes?

31. What do you think about people who only do Lolita at music-lives or cosplay?
Live and let live yes?

32. From what age to what age is it acceptable to do Lolita? Do you think that there's a state in which someone must graduate from Lolita? (you can answer as ‘never graduate’)

I think in general when people mature, styles change. Kuro mentioned that in SG, people tend to start with gothic and slowly grow to wear sweet whereas in Aust, the opposite occurs. Basically, do whatever you're comfortable with. For me personally, I started with classic lolita, but now I'm wearing more cute stuff like emikyu with a bit of pink house thrown in. Just recently, I've been to appreciate the more subtle gothic style more (I mean as in less Vampire Romance but gothic-style cuts). It doesn't nessescarily mean I'm going to start wearing gothic, but perhaps more of an influence?

Remember folks, fashion is a freakin' trend but style is alllllllllll about you.

33. Is there a Lolita fashion or behavior that you think "I don't want Lolitas to do this!" about?
I think the "whiteface" makeup shouldn't be used unless it's for mana cosplay, but I'm always ready to be proven wrong. I don't like the "wear-once-and-sell" mentality either. It isn't just about brand-whoring anymore, it's about how many outfits you can post pictures of in a week. Sometimes I wonder if people wear lolita just for attention............

34. Is there something you think "Lolita has to be this way!" about?
I draw a line at black mesh t-shirts with PVC that show your nipples. PLEASE. NEVER AGAIN x_x

35. While doing Lolita, has something changed from earlier than you did Lolita?
I'm more conscious of grooming. Not coordinating or anything like that,  but the need to brush your hair, put on lip gloss etc etc I'm pretty much a slob otherwise but nowadays I have like.....proper haircuts! (I used to cut my hair myself) and nail polish!

36. Do you go to school/work as Lolita?
yep

37. Do you wear Lolita clothes as casual wear?
yep

38. Do you have a boyfriend (or husband)? Do you understand each other? (I think she meant “Does he understand you (as lolita)?”)
What happened to trying to be mysterious and elegantly doll-like? Nah. Not interested. Besides, I like having an individual hobby - it makes life more interesting than if me and my partner liked everything the same y'know?

39. What do the people around you think of your doing Lolita? Do they accept it?
They do, they do. They don't - whatever. Most of my friends have the same "as you please" attitude, and we don't really bitch about each other's quirks. That would be hypocrisy.

40. What kind of Lolita is who has impressed you the most up until now?
I generally like/admire all the lolitas I've met both online/offline. I don't really idolize anyone, since it'll be awkward for the other person and it's much better to be friends isn't it?

41. Have you ever made your own Lolita clothing or/and accessories? If so, what was the best item that you’ve made?
A BIG FAT BLACK BOW. Other stuff: wine skirt with gold ribbons, parasol jsk and some other stuff. The best item I've made is a bunch of patterns - a manila sized folder of A4 patterns which I blow up on a photocopying machine and pass to a seamtress when I don't have time to sit and sew. I really like pattern making more than sewing, so I rarely sew nowadays. (but patterns are fun! :D)

42. If you have an ideal Lolita outfit or coordination, please tell us.
Going to wear it this Saturday. DISCOLOLITA FTW!

43. Is there a motif that you think “this is a simple of Lolita”?
Can I be biased and say the fairywish classical print? If not, I think Moitie's iron gate print is pretty much "lolita"-ly recognizable.

44. Would you want to dress your children as Lolita?
hahaha YES! We'll be like those families with the kids dressed in Shirley Temple and the parent dressed in Emikyu. HILARIOUS FUN.

45. What's your image of the ideal Lolita?
Someone who knows who they are, and aren't afraid of it.
