Fuckin' amazing weekend...
So, this weekend was supposed to be memorable, in a way that didn't happen. Being a year since we met, I thought this weekend was going to blow some serious ass. But it was just the opposite.
I got to take a night off of being on call on Friday. Spectrum watched the Jewish comedian before going Queer Bowling w/Poder Latino in Hornell. That was an experience for the poor girls who aren't used to us drunk hicks. Then Jess, Sarah, Nikki, and I drank at Missie's place. First time not making an ass out of myself in front of Sarah and Jess. I wish I could bottle what Sarah and Nikki have. I've never seen a couple as cute as they are. Jess and I stayed at Missie b/c there was no way we were going to make it back to our rooms! I slept good...passed right out.
Woke up 4 hours later (still a bit buzzed) to get around and go to my eye appt and have Easter dinner with Mom and Dad Saturday morning. I have 20/15 vision now! Compare that to the 20/400 I had a week and a half ago. I stopped by Granpa and Granma's (that's how we spell it) after my appt. He likes to debate and thinks he's always right. I hate that about the man. It was good to see mom and dad. Made my way back to Alfred to be on call and go to Demo Team practice. 5 out of the 6 of us showed up. Leslie and I went on a man-hunt for Jana. She was where I thought she would be - eating at the chinese restarant w/Jess and the girls. It was quite amusing to walking into the chinese place in our gis. So, anyway, we've got the routine down for the 7th. We also got a routine together for the Hot Dog Day parade. That's going to be interesting in shoes.
I met Jess and the girls at the Knight Club to watch an AMAZING performer - Kate Klim (http://www.kateklim.com). I practically broke out in tears during some of her songs. After the show, Jess asked them to hang out, make hummus and drink w/us. And they did! It was awesome. 'Course, if I had been able to drink, I'm sure it would have been better. The final member left at 4am and Jess and I stayed at Missie's again.
I swear I woke up to someone having sex upstairs this morning @ 6am, but I think it was just the heater. Cuz I heard the same exact sound 3 hours later. We finally got up at 12pm. Went to Orvis gym at State for Demo Team practice again (6 days of karate this week). Unfortunately, I'm afraid I'm beginning to get really fed up with some of the members on the team. Went to dinner w/Jess et al, and afterwards experienced my first Pagan ritual - Ostara. I'm usually skeptical about religion, etc. but I gained some real respect for Jess and Kassie tonight. Then they took off their shirts and ran around in the snow - I refrained for I was on call. They came back to my place and we watched a tape my sister made for me. She wasn't home when I was home this weekend, so she made me a tape that I could watch when I missed her. And I do miss my Bean! (If anyone would like to see what we do in our spare time at home, come see me, we're real dorks!) And the night ended with some awesome pictures from Lauren's weekend and interesting conversations w/my girls. Thank you to Jess and Missie for an AMAZING weekend. I really needed it and you guys pulled me up on my feet again. I am alive again...
