Old McDonald
We have a couple Old McDonald books, but Fi really likes the one with cartoonish drawings of an Irish-looking farmer, his farm, and eight different animals--and hence eight verses of the song. At the end of the book, there are a couple of extra pages where you match animal pictures and answer similar questions to challenge your toddler.
The last page is Old McDonald on his tractor waving, and we're supposed to identify Old McDonald and count the tractor wheels. So, reading the book recently, I asked Fi, "Who's driving the tractor?"
She emphatically responded, "ME!"
I looked at her squarely and asked, "Do you have a scruffy red beard like the picture?"
She flashed a winsome smile and smugly answered, "Yeah."
I'll have to keep an eye on that girl.
