Welcome to what will hopefully be the first of many TSN Rare Pair Fests!
The movie The Social Network features an ensemble of complex characters, and the TSN Rare Pair Fest is here to celebrate the less common combinations of those characters, in fic, art, mixes, and all other kinds of fan works.
TSN Rare Pair is a fledgling fest and no fixed schedule or set of rules has been worked out yet, so I'm starting the community off with a general discussion post on how we want to run this fest. The following are a couple of suggestions to get us started:
Rules
- All kinds of fan works are welcome. Word minimum for fic is set at 3,000 words, fan mixes should be at least 5 songs.
- Legible for the TSN Rare Pair Fest are all works that do not primarily feature Mark/Eduardo or Andrew/Jesse, though both pairings are allowed as secondary pairings or as part of primary three- or moresomes.
- Works are to be posted with a header with warnings.
- Don't hate on pairings.
Schedule
Version 1, quick&dirty, with just the barest schedule:
- ~ until February 5th: Sign-ups for everybody
- ~ February 21st: Check-in, draft submission, and requests re: preferred posting dates
- ~February 23th/24th: Posting dates assigned
- March 1st: Posting starts
Version 2, set up like a Bang, with author/artist pairs:
- ~ until February 5th: Author sign-ups, non-committal artist sign-ups
- ~ February 21st: Author check-ins, draft submission
- ~February 23th/24th: Artist sign-ups
- March 15th: Posting starts
Updated rules and schedule are
here.
Now I need opinions. Comments, suggestions? More time?
Non-committal sign of hand
- Are you interested
- As author or artist
- Quick, dirty, and every fan for themselves, or with match-ups
- Any other suggestions, questions, offers? I have never organised a fest before, so any advice or a more savvy co-mod would be welcome - I neither know how to include one of those little comment template boxes, nor can I make a promo poster since adding MS Paint writing to a screencap would most likely only scare people away, and layouts and anything else more complex than the tag for Italic forever mystify me.
