“Oh, fuck. Fuck, I’m sorry. My roommate. I’m so so sorry about what you’re going to encounter,” Jesse says quickly and before he can do anything else, Joe storms in.
“Hello, Jesse, my favorite neurotic friend!” Joe beams and passes both Jesse and Andrew, going to the kitchen from which he yells: “I’m home just for a sec, I’m going to grab something clean and then I’m out for a date. A date, Jesse! Do you hear me? I withdraw that question, I know you do.”
Jesse covers his face, trying not to look at Andrew’s delighted smirk. Meanwhile, Joe continues his monologue.
“You should try dating. How long has it been since you and Rooney split up? Doesn’t matter, you should be dating anyway. I’m sorry, mate, but she’s not coming back, not when she has that guy of hers--” Joe seems to be still saying something, but his voice drowns in the sound of the kettle. Jesse looks at Andrew then and he looks just as confused as Jesse feels.
“Probably best not to mention this to anyone,” Andrew mutters, barely audible.
“Right, oh, right. Don’t worry. I’m not going to mention this to anyone. Myself included. I mean, I’ll remember it, but I won’t mention it. To anyone.”
Andrew smiles fondly again and something in Jesse’s chest flips. He frowns when Andrew gets to the door, smiles at him again and mutters bye.
“Bye,” Jesse says, closing the door. He turns, staring at the hallway with a frown and just stands there.
“Why do you have a big tea stain on your shirt?” Joe asks and Jesse just shakes his head. Joe shrugs. “Okay, then. Up for movie night?”
“Do I have a choice?”
“Good point. No,” Joe grins, all teeth and Jesse hates his life.

Ah yes, that school thing. We are going to suffer, but we're going to be happy about it! (I'm wondering if I should find some way to block livejournal during finals week....)
