i'd have to say depression is pretty much a rule at this age. maybe not a rule, more like a requirement?
the fact that we're in highschool doesn't help the stereotyping situation. once people get an idea of who they think you are, you're pretty much stuck with that. i know that sounds sort of defeatist, but its sadly kind of true. what the majority thinks, goes around here... and especially in highschool everyone wants to conform... which means they'll do anything, even adopt the mentality of everyone else, to fit in. and since most of us a mentally incapacitated as it is, we dont make good decisions about how to treat people and fit in. it sucks that to find security in numbers we need to exclude and hurt other people. we lack that maturity to do what is right.
people our age talk gibberish about everyone because we generally have so many insecurities of our own. if we make other people look bad to ourselves, we in a way make ourselves look better. its called projection... you make others look bad for what you despise about your own character. you know what i mean?
wait for college. people won't know you there, there will be no preconceived stereotypes to battle, people will be more secure with themselves, and you can finally be yourself.
cheer up... not that much longer to go...
