dear brokeback... you really suck.
i saw brokeback last night. i am wrecked. totally wrecked for like the next week. i was bawling like a 6 year old who scraped her knee and knows how to work the crowd for sympathy. my aunt/cousin took me to go see it because she couldn't get it out of her head and we were both just destroyed. for those of you who haven't seen it DO NOT READ AHEAD:
when they flash back to when they were on the mountain as teenagers and Twist is sleeping standing up and Enis comes up behind him and they were both just SO HAPPY. they had this sweet dreamy look on their faces and Enis said he'd be back in the morning and then it flashed back to when they were older and Twist looked so destroyed. i about lost it. tears were totally streaming down my face. what got me the most is that at the end of a "usual" sad love story, you can sometimes think to yourself, "well, life will go on. maybe they'll find someone new." but with this one, no. he can't. and so, for the next week, i will be depressed. thank you brokeback. thank you so much. like i didn't already know i had the capacity to feel for other peoples suffering. thanks for dragging that out.
