but i'm so tired of days that feel like the night
OKAY. gonna make this as quick and painless as possible. got there around 1 and saw the white tie affair. they covered 'just dance' by lady gaga and it actually wasn't that bad. they were pretty good. then we saw saosin and status green; i'd never heard of status green but i liked them.
we wandered around the merch tents for a while and saw a few bands hanging around their tents... the maine, sing it loud, underoath. there was this redhead sitting in underoath's tent and everyone kept coming up to him saying "OMG HI AARON I LOVE YOU" and he kept going "i'm not aaron!" (he wasn't, ftr.) and i told him he should just get a sign that said "NOT AARON." but yeah, after that we were hanging around the sing it loud tent for a while, and i've never listened to them before but i know what some of them look like and how everyone on fbg is obsessed with pat brown and all. so we were standing there and one of the guys from the band, i have no idea which one, was sitting in a chair just like talking to himself into a megaphone and it was so funny omg. he finally noticed us listening to him and he was like hey into his megaphone and we were like "lol you're entertaining us" and he was like thanks, i didn't know how sitting here would work out but i'm having a great time! lmao. their tent was next to jeffree star's, and there were a ton of people there and we were sorta interested in what was going on bc two of audrey's friends wanted her to get his autograph, so we asked sing it loud dude if he knew what was going on and he didn't know, so he was like jeffree! jeffree star, are you there? where are you? all the people in the line were looking at him like :| so he turned back to us and was like he must be fixing his make-up.
since i'm such a good friend, i went to stand in jstar's line with audrey for like an hour in front of this unbelievably annoying chick going "I'M SO EXCITED" and "I'M SO PISSED, WHY IS HE LATE" and missed good bands like streetlight manifesto and underoath :( but omfg he finally came out like 20 minutes late and just like, ahbjsdnkln. idek, he freaks me the fuck out. not because i don't like trannies or anything, i just really can't stand him. but audrey got posters for each of us to get signed, and when i got up to him this is how it went:
me: hi, could you sign this to chloe?
him (not even looking up): how the fuck do you spell that?
me: :| c, h, l, o, e.
him: c, h... a?
me: l, o, e
him: l, a?
me: O, E.
him: sorry, i'm retarded.
me: NO SHIT (okay jk i didn't say that, but i was just like wtf and walked away.)
so yeah, that says enough about him. oh and there was also a girl up there signing things with him and i think she was like a back-up dancer but we were all like "who the fuck is that, we don't want you to sign this" lol but yeah enough on them.
after that i saw jac's tent and went up to look at the bracelets. jac was there, but she was just sitting in a chair talking about how fat some girl she saw at a party was and all these other girls who i guess were from her "pack" were there selling her shit for her. cool, right? but i bought a bracelet anyway because i wanted one. i also got a cute warped shirt and a shirt from the invisible children tent where i donated some money.
we got food and found shade next to the main stage where we sat against the fence, and it was cool bc we could hear really well and see all the crowdsurfers coming out and see behind the stage and all. we ended up sitting there for a few hours, we listened to less than jake, nofx, flogging molly, and bad religion. we made friends with the security guard there. he was walking along the fence making sure no one was passing out and he was like "ARE YOU GIRLS OKAY? ARE YOU PASSING OUT?" and we were like "lol no but thanks" and he was like "GOOD, FOUR GIRLS JUST PASSED OUT ON TOP OF EACH OTHER AND I WAS LIKE WHAT THE HELL, WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO, BE IN FIVE PLACES AT ONCE?" lmao.
after a while we left and saw madina lake who i've seen before, and they were all right. audrey wanted to see jstar so we watched his set from the side, and omg, so terrible. it was really fucking disgusting, he was sticking his ass out at the crowd and making out with one of the dancers and it was just very unfortunate.
after him it was almost time for all time low's set, so on our way back over to the main stage we passed the millionaires, who were complete shit. like, i really can't believe they get paid to do what they do. ugh ajhdbsknl
sooooo we watched all time low from the back, and they were good. they played weightless, six feet under the stars, stella(!), jasey rae(!), damned if i do ya, and dear maria. idk i miss their old stuff :( it was a good set though.
halfway during their set we looked over and saw nate from sing it loud watching atl too, but at this point i didn't know his name yet. but omg, he ended up being the highlight of my day :') he was singing along to all the songs and clapping along and everything and it was adorable. i was wondering if they were friends or if he just fangirled over them a lot, but i figured later that they were friends bc i saw that gaskarth sings on one of their new songs.
anyway, we pm spent the whole set watching him watching us watching him watch all time low. afterwards everyone started to leave and he was carrying around his cds trying to sell them, so we went over. i was like "sing it loud, right?" and he was like "yeah! wanna buy a cd?" so we both did bc we couldn't deny him, lol :( he was too cute. he thanked us for like a thousand years and was like "here, i'll open them for you and make them all pretty" so he took all the plastic crap off and signed the booklets inside. i think mine says "alyssa, you're rad!" or something, lol :( while he did this i was like "so did you watch all time low?" and he was like "oh, i love them!" we talked about them for a while and i mentioned how i liked the old stuff better and he was like "i love all of it!" then we started talking about how popular they're getting and he was all :') that they were ~making it~ which somehow brought us to cobra starship. he mentioned hot mess and how good it was and i said something about gabe's voice, and he was all "ik ik he's such a good guy though i feel bad for him too, we've toured with them twice before!" and he was like blah blah blah sassyback tour blah blah and i mentioned seeing them with the academy is two years back, and he was like "SLEEPING WITH GIANTS TOUR!" and i was like LOL YEAH YOU'RE SUCH A CUTE FANGIRL! but basically, he ended up thanking us for buying the cd and coming to the tour in general and supporting the music and all. he was like "where do you guys live?" and we were like, "we're an hour away" and he said all seriously "please drive safely." <3 then he was like "alyssa and audrey, right? it was so nice to meet you guys!" and he hugged each of us voluntarily and then we left. YOU GUYS, AW. he was like one of the sweetest guys ever.
on our way home it took like an hour to get out of the parking lot. it was horrible, people were cutting in front of the line and other cars were letting them, and there was this random kid in a car who kept getting out and shining this flashlight around and pretending to direct traffic. he was fucking hilarious. he ended up getting back in the car and yelling stuff like "THIS SHIT'S BEEN OVER FOR AN HOUR!" and talking to people in other cars lol. audrey and i started talking/yelling to him ("hey! i like you!" "THANKS! SO WHAT BANDS DID YOU SEE?") but we eventually got out.
all in all, fun day. this wasn't exactly short and no way am i reading over it for mistakes or anything, but have fun reading. bless you if you read this all <3
