That's another thing that makes me furious. When they hear about some other country thousands of miles away that is run by Muslim extremists, and no other religion is allowed, they are all for beating them up and allowing them to see the light. But here in our own country, when a non-Christian religion is pushed down, marginalized or even disrespected, they don't care. They whine and moan about how some Muslim church agenda is running those other countries and how we should take the religion from the government agenda. When someone tries to separate church and state here in the states, and asks that an obvious Christian reference be taken from governmental buildings and funding, they scream bloody murder and claim they are martyrs. When people are persecuted in another country for owning a Bible, they want to send in troops to kill those responsible for the opression. When Dubya, before becoming president, spoke of banning Wicca and other pagan based religions from the military, he was cheered. And don't give me the crap about "there's a difference between banning and persecuting" because one invariably leads to the other.

Church and State were separated a LONG time ago for GOOD reason. The last time Church and State were one, and everyone followed Christianity was called the Dark Ages. It was called that for a good reason.
