Need for Speed
Well,
The other day when I found out that B was pregnant, I was so happy I forgot to post on what I had been up to that morning, I was out at Eastern Creek Raceway, which is about 20 mins drive from home, my friends who own SSS Automotive were having a track day and had their Nissan S13 Sylvia and an 800HP Nissan Skyline R32 doing laps, and even better, they PAID for me to have 10 laps in the car (sadly not driving) which was awesome,
The first 5 laps was with my friend Anthony driving, he has a long history of racing, and it was incredible to watch him at work "in the office" and he set a nice quick time around which we got up to just over 200Km/h down the long main straight and then slowed slightly for turn 1, about 175km/h, it was sooo much fun and made me really wish I was racing again.
Then I did 5 laps with Geoff, who part-owns SSS, his style was more hard on the brakes at each corner, but amazingly, still fast times, about 1 sec slower than Anf, I just wish I had got to go in the Skyline, Anf did later on and set the fastest time of the day, so he was pretty happy in a car that he only did about 10 laps in.
I will have to post a few pikkys later, but then when I got home to B, boy was I in trouble, she had rung me a number of times during the day, and I had let slip I went for some laps, and she went nuts, before we got married, i had promised I would never go racing again. So she spent the rest of the day ringing me every 20 mins to make sure I wasnt out on the track again!
When I got home there was a big discussion on how I had broke my promise, But I countered by saying that I never promised to not go as a passenger! She said that was just as bad, but lets face it, from previous post you all know I can drive like I am racing on the road, and thats FAR more dangerous than on a track.
Anyway, hope everyone had a cool Xmas Day and are looking forward to a party hard kinda New Years Eve.
