THIS IS A FUCKING CALL TO ARMS
I need us all to band together to shut down the biggest fucking sack of shit excuse for a zoo I have ever seen. I am ASHAMED that this place exists in my province, in my country, hell, ANYWHERE in the fucking world. It is sick and disgusting what is happening to these poor creatures. Bob Barker and PETA are all over our local zoo with no good reason, but nothing is being done about this pile of fucking SHIT.
The "volunteers" who "work" there are all over the Facebook album where these images were posted trying to defend these living conditions, but there is no excuse. There is no good reason that this should be happening. Right now, tons of people are trying to get their friends and family to call the SPCA, report this place, and get it shut down so that these poor animals can get some proper care. This "zoo" calls itself a fucking RESCUE, for Chrissakes! Honestly, at this point, euthanization would be better for the poor animals.
So here's what I'm asking--begging--you to do. If you can, if you are at all monetarily able, PLEASE call the Alberta (Canada) SPCA and file a complaint against this place. I don't care what you say--whether you fib and say you've been there, or you just tell them you saw a collection of photos on the web. But something needs to be done, and we need as many people as possible taking action to make sure it happens. Emails, letters, phone calls--whatever! Pass it on, tell your friends and relations. Please.
Here are the photos that were just posted today and brought this entire situation to my own attention. Just FYI--some of them are really graphic, especially in terms of animal abuse. If that sort of thing affects you strongly, you might want to navigate away.
There is also an online petition to try and get this place shut down. It has about 13000 signatures right now--guys, if the full power of Livejournal and the internet comes to bear against this, we could easily double or even triple that.
