My gym is closing at the end of the year. With the economy being what it is, the gym seems to be one of the first things to go when you're cutting corners. They've lost 90 members this year and the owners just don't want to fight to try and keep it open. One of the women is seriously thinking about buying it, and I'm hoping she does. Otherwise I'm going to have to find a new routine...I had planned on supplementing Curves with running, maybe it won't be supplemental after all...or I could finally give in to Holly and join Shapes with her. I've loved being at Curves, but I don't think there's another one that's close/convenient enough for me to be happy, and part of the reason I stayed at the one I was at, and did as well as I have is because of the women there, which may not be at the one that I transfer to. I met some incredibly strong, supportive, funny, intelligent people there. They've helped me get through the process of losing weight, and I will miss them dearly. I mentioned trying to get together for dinner once a month, and people seemed responsive to that idea, so hopefully it will work out.

Steph decided to tell me that mom relayed to her the fact that her boyfriend doesn't wear underwear. Ummm...gross. Why my mother ever thought that tidbit of information was something that we needed to know, I'll never understand. And I'm mad at Steph for deciding that if she was going to be grossed out, then I needed to be too.

Last night while on the phone with my sister I saw a little bug crawling on the yellow chair in my room. I went into the bathroom and grabbed a couple of squares of toilet paper and went back to the chair with the intention of grabbing and squishing the bug with my hands. I get back to the chair, locate the bug and proceed to carry out my plan. Being the curious person that I am, I of course then open up the toilet paper wad to see exactly what it was that I killed…and there it was, a tiny roach, with its ridiculously long antennae pointing up at me. I guess with the fact that I was on the phone with Steph at the time, and the angle the roach was sitting on the chair I didn’t realize what it was at the time, and so I practically used my bare hands to kill one…I was equal parts grossed out and proud of myself.
