Sudan and UNIDR
So its Friday, and I am thinking, shit its fucking beautiful outside and I am going to go skateboarding by the lake. I have this meeting with my boss at 2 and so I figure once I am done with that, Im out. I wind up having to wait for him until about 330, and he comes storming in and says "About your assignment, everythings changed."
Turns out that there is a genocide going on in Sudan as of the moment. (whoa, really?) and he says, I need you to forget about the last assignment on Sri Lanka for now(I had a month to do this) and instead I need you to write me a summary on all the literature regarding Sudan, violence, and anthropology by next Friday. (The dudes got a meeting with the World Bank or whatever, and apparently starvation and genocide has finally made its way onto the agenda)
So now, its Wednesday, my head fucking hurts, but this thing might actually come together. Thank God...but really how inconsiderate is it of the Sudanese to be doing their genocide thing at the time that I am doing an internship with people who want to do work on Sudan...Genocide affects all of us
