Disclaimer: I do not own Marble Hornets or any related characters. This was written out of enjoyment of the series, and no profit is being made.
Notes: Marble Hornets is basically an Alternate Reality 'Movie' about the Slenderman Mythos. According to the creators, Part 1 has recently concluded, so if you want to enjoy some scaaaary stuff, you have plenty of time to catch up! Just go all the way to the bottom of the Twitter page and follow the links from there.

This takes place some time after Entry 16.

Jay, and the things said in-between.

Between (Brackets)

Things always start simply. That’s just the way the world works.

An assassination of an archduke was certainly a lot simpler than genocide. Going to the Laundromat and doing your laundry is a lot simpler than going to a bar and meeting a nice girl who drinks tequila.

Starting a student film is a lot simpler than…

Being chased? Stalked? Protected?

It’s hard to tell anymore. I feel like I’m swimming in my own thoughts too much lately.

The man in the suit, the man in the mask, the pills…

There’s only so much a camera can capture. Depth perception and all that stuff about one lens versus two eyes (watching you), and besides that, your length of tape is the amount of time you can see.

Like… there are spaces in-between letters and numbers. Like the square in the middle of a number sign. And spaces in-between your bones (that he just ends up breaking anyway when you can’t run fast enough) and spaces in-between your veins (that bleed into sinks in abandoned houses). There are circles in the middle of ‘o’s (that get impaled by two diagonal lines).

There are so many things that I don’t know. So many none of us do. The things that wait in the dark, just beyond the reach of your flashlight. Sounds that lie in the static if you spend just one more hour at it. A cough that’ll go away if you take one more pill and a friend you’re searching for if you look through one more tape.

There’s so much I can’t catch with a camera.

And I have a feeling there’s not enough time for me to keep chasing.
