The New Ficathon!
Jim Ellison is a decorated police detective and former Army Ranger with out-of-control senses.
Blair Sandburg is a young anthropology grad student studying people with hyperactive senses.
The Deal: Sandburg agrees to help Ellison learn to control his senses in return for being allowed to study him for his thesis. Impossibly, the men become friends. And maybe more.
The problem: when terrorists and serial killers aren't enough to come between them, will Blair's dissertation be the breaking point?
Ahhh, no one can deny that the romance between Jim and Blair is legendary! Reads like a Harlequin, yes?
Welcome to the 2nd Sentinel Ficathon hosted by ts_ficathons! And we've got a treat for you…! *g* As you may be able to guess, the title for this Ficathon is "The Sentinel…Harlequin Style!" We're going to love the boys, smut 'em up and give them some happy endings!
Rules and Guidelines:
Well, there aren't many rules actually! This - this VERY post - is your entire prompt. You get to choose the subject and the storyline and everything else!
1. The only hard-and-fast requirement is that your story must share a title with a book or a movie. (It doesn't have to be a Harlequin. Feel free to choose Silhouette or one of those corny Hallmark movies or one of the mainstream romance books… sky's the limit on this!) When you post your story, provide a link to the book or movie that you have chosen as your inspiration. (If a link is not available, just let us know where you got the title!)
2. Your story DOES NOT have to be an AU. Not at all! Jim and Blair in canon are actually fairly harlequin-esque (just try to argue that one! Impossible! *bg*). Maybe you trap them in a cabin for a couple of days or they suddenly discover their feelings when an old-flame shows up or maybe… endless possibilities!
3. Your story does not have to follow the exact plot of the book/movie that you have choosen for your title.
4. Your story must be slash or pre-slash (UST). Gen and het is lovely, but this is a slash ficathon!
5. You do not have to choose Jim and Blair as your main pairing. Got an inkling for some Rafe/Henry? Well, they need some loving too!
6. Your story must be at least 1000 words in length. There's no maximum length. You may write more than one story if you so choose, as long as they all meet the minimum length requirement.
7. You must sign-up on THIS post before 01 March 2006 to participate. Sign-up with your LJ name and your email address in a comment. That's all the info we need! Remember, there is no additional prompt for this ficathon. This post is both your prompt and your sign-up post!
8. Sign-ups are open until 01 March 2006. Stories are due on 13 - 17 April 2006. On 13 April, one of the mods will make a links post: comment on that post with the location of your story.
9. You may post your story on your LJ, an archive or a web page. This community is NOT for the posting of fics. We provide information and links only.
There are many places to find titles of books/movies. Two of the more entertaining links the mods have discovered: Romance Books on Barnes and Noble or Romance Books on Amazon.
This ficathon was completely inspired by the The Harlequin Challenge on sga_flashfic. The brilliance of those mods has provided thousands of wonderfully amazing fics across numerous fandoms. *bg* Oh yes!
