Perhaps April 15 is not the best day to have the stories due? It makes sense with your time line, but many folks are tied up with taxes and financial concerns in the weeks before the 15th. Just saying.
Having had my whine, let me say that I'm looking forward to the new topic for the challenge. Have you mods settled on something yet?

i'ma add a second "hmmm" to the timeline (which is a great way to show how excited i am about the second round, no? >.<), not about taxes because i'm not american and work on an entirely different schedule, but because i know that april is getting to the end of the post-secondary school year and into finals -- which might be a potential deterrent for some participants.

We want to have the ficathons twice a year on a regular basis: Feb/March/April and then Aug/Sept/Oct. If we push the months around then we run into all the Christmas stuff and finals and...
We're still tossing around ideas for the subject but I believe we're leaning towards prompts based off of Clue - person, place and thing. :) (Mostly, we just want a chance to bring back some of our favorite supporting characters *coff*Lee Brackett, Earl Gaines *coff*. Hee!)
