Rather large earthquake last night. Biggest one I've experienced here so far. Actually made me a little scared. Usually the earthquakes don't scare me because I understand the theory behind techtonics and crap - and you know how it is, you only fear what you don't understand. This one had me thinking that it can actually cause damage - you know it's kinda rough when you hear shit falling over in the room above you.
I happened to oversleep that morning, after going back to sleep after the earthquake at 4am. However, when there's a semi-strong earthquake in the early morning hours, sure enough, the trains are fucked! That solves the over sleeping problem, since being late was no big deal as I had a "jikoku-shomeisho" (late certificate) from the railway, and I'm off scott free - although the problem wasn't originating from my line, but the Tobu line (Tobu operates on the opposite side of Tokyo that I'm commuting from, but the same train services 3 lines continuously, so; chain reaction).
There had been a large number of those small hard-to-notice earthquakes lately, now I know why.
I got an interesting phone call tonight too. One of the places that interviewed me 3 months ago called me today. They want to place me England. I was like "What!?". Well, that was interesting, and I'll be talking to somebody else about that tonight. Not that I expect to be taking it though, as I've indirectly made a commitment (or at least interest in making such a commitment) to Mr. Yamada (whom I'd likely be doing travelling for at some point anyway should I end up working for him (hope hope hope!)). I am curious to see exactly what they are proposing for this England schtick though, so I'll play.
Eve just got in the door as I type this. She's going to probably swing me a ticket to the International Arcade Expo to go with her on Saturday... cool! XD OK, who wants what kind of details? I wonder how much I'll be able to understand while I'm there. Although I've been noticing I'm having an easier time communicating lately. I should get back into the study groove probably, I've been slacking pretty severely on it as of late.
Working on rebuilding my social life although still from a financial pinch. Man, if Mr. Yamada comes through for me my money probs would be solved pretty damned fast (although that's not the only reason I'd love to be working for him, as has been previously stated ^^). So yeah, interesting day. I'm also getting a little more responsibility of my own at work lately, which is good since there have been some awkward moments where I kinda wonder "wtf am I supposed to do right now???". However, I have the sneaking suspicion that that won't last long, but who knows.
All in all, things are looking relatively optimistic, although not easy (yet).
