Tokyo Metro found my wallet. I picked it up today. I <3 Tokyo. All the cards were still there, except the SIN card, which I later confirmed after getting home that it was never in the wallet in the first place - it was stored in my room with the other cards that are as useless as can be in Japan (like my health card). Haha, I'm SO organized

Cut up two of the cards in there, as they have been replaced. My citibank card (an empty account, although still active) was in there as well, and should still be usable if it had money in it... which it doesn't... which is rather ironic, because it is the only card that will work at non-citibank Japanese banks. Anyway, for that reason I didn't bother cancelling that card. Hopefully, I can avoid having to cancel the MC, as that card has a block on it (so they actually couldn't cancel it when I asked them to as a result).

Got the other replacement card that I've been expecting and waiting for when I got home today, one of the ones that actually has real money on it (the other being the MC), yay!

Some business cards or other written contact information format was gone, can't understand why in the world those would have been taken. Not really a big deal, most of those people I know how to contact anyway, as they were all Canadian.

I have returned now to wallet-chain mode. I'm a little concerned about the strength of the current chain, but it is certainly good enough. This is the same chain my keys are on, some of you have seen this. Getting my wallet onto it involved a bit of fiddling and brute strength, but I got it on there nice and snug.

On Monday night, I believe that I will taking care of employment red-tape. I'm not counting chics before they've hatched, but this is the understanding that I got today. Actually was hoping it would be done today, but the person required to handle this kind of stuff was unavailable.

I should also give the ward office a call and tell them to stop processing my new gaijin card, because a) I got my old one back and b) I'm probably going to be required to update information soon, meaning yet another new card for them to make for me.

One recent development that puts a damper on the current upwards-looking situation: I've had to cancel my holiday travel plans. I will be sans-family this Xmas for the first time in my life =/. Xmas comes every year, so I'm not too crushed, especially considering how things are generally going right now here in Japan.

Quite a few other things on my mind, but I'll save those for Monday or Tuesday.

The weekend will have a year-end party with the frisbee group, so that everybody, including those going away for the holidays, can attend. Funny how I thought I would be one of those away for the holidays at the time I said "count me in". In anycase, I think I've got reasons to celebrate. My test is done (although it is totally unknown if I'll pass), my wallet is back, and I may be on route to getting a new VISA and a paycheque. That citibank account might not be empty for much longer.

I feel like I owe somebody, somewhere, big time.
