Summary: Prequel to A Proper Wife. Jensen is marrying Jared today.

Thanks for all the support! I couldn't get a wedding!fic plotbunny out of my head so here it is!

Jensen stared at himself in the mirror taking deep breaths trying to calm himself, while picking at his perfect white suit.  He can do this. He can officially give himself up. He’ll finally take his proper place as Jared’s lawfully wedded wife.

“Jen honey,” a soft voice called out behind him. He turned and gave a weak grin to his mother. “Are you sure you wish to do this? You can leave. No one will judge you,” she whispered while gently touching his arm.

“I’m sure,” he breathed.

Her eyes started filling with tears. “This isn’t how it was supposed to be. You were never meant to turn into one of them. You’re my baby boy. Boy, Jen. Please don’t do this!”

“I love him! If this is what it takes to keep him, then this is what I’m going to do.”  He started playing with his engagement band, refusing to look his mother in the eye.

Jensen did love him. He honestly did. He loved the way Jared always looked at him, that loving caring gaze. He loved the way Jared spoke. He loved Jared’s silly laugh. He loved the way Jared’s face would just light up. He loved everything about him. That’s why he was doing this. For Jared.

Jared was very persistent about the wedding. From the moment he had gotten down on one knee, all he did was pressure Jensen into making choices about the wedding. Jensen honestly didn’t want to go through with it. He wanted to be one of the outcasts. He wanted to be living as two men loving and living together. Jared didn’t. Jared wanted to conform, he always has. Jensen wished he stood up for himself. He wished that he had begged Jared not to do this, but he hadn’t. Jensen said yes to the proposal. He had planned the wedding. Now he was about to walk down the aisle in his perfect white clothes with a bouquet. Like a woman.

The awkward moment with his mother soon found its way to an end when the gaggle of bridesmaids walked in chattering excitedly about the wedding. Is this his fate? He looked sorrowfully at the men he had chosen. He didn’t actually care for them too much. He only had few conversations with them before this circus started. He couldn’t have asked his real friends to stand with him. They were all normal men. They were men like Jared, not like him. Wives did not associate with those men, unless it was for their husband’s sake.

“Jen, you look gorgeous!” shrieked a small brunet. The man’s name was Alex.  Alex was a nurse, well, he wouldn’t be for long. Alex’s husband has decided that Alex had too much on his plate and told him to quit.  Alex, like the good wife he is, is going to. He had confided in Jensen a few days ago that he really didn’t want to quit. He loved his job, but his husband needed him.

Jensen had found him lost in the mindless chatter surrounding him. There were countless tips being thrown at him about the big wedding night. Others were discussing the actual marriage, throwing in their own experiences to aid him. Jensen really didn’t listen to any of it. All he could imagine was what was waiting for him at the end of the aisle. On one hand it was his Jared, on the other it was a lifetime of servitude. Good wives take care of their husbands.

Jensen’s mind snapped back to attention when he heard a loud knock on the door. One of the bridesmaids opened the door letting out a squeal announcing it was the father of the bride.

“Time to go,” Jensen’s father muttered, his words slightly slurring.

Jensen nodded and the bridesmaids, once again, squealed. Was this really going to be him? Was he really going to turn into this mindless mess that was laid out before him? They were dead on the inside; a friend of his parents once told him when he was young. He hadn’t understood what she meant then, but now…

He didn’t want to think about it.

The bridesmaids lined up and took their place in front of the church doors. Jensen held onto his father’s arm behind them. The stench of alcohol that was flooding his nostrils was sickening, but he ignored it and plastered a huge smile on his face.

The bridesmaids had already left and it was all him now. He took a deep breath and led his father down the aisle, praying his father doesn’t trip. The sound of Here Comes the Bride floods his ears as he looks onto the spectators. There were already people in tears. He looked to his family for reassurance. His mother looked at him with pity in her eyes, tears pouring down her face. His sister simply stared at the floor. His brother didn’t show. When Jensen had first told his family about the wedding his brother became irate. He screamed and cursed, begging Jensen to not do this to himself. He swore he would never step foot in that wedding. He kept his promise.

Jensen finally looked straight and his heart stopped. Looking at Jared’s smiling face, Jensen remembered why he was doing this. He loved him. Jensen had finally reached the end of the aisle. He turned to his father and reached to hug him, but his father had quickly turned away and wandered to his seat. Jensen looked surprised but turned to Jared anyways.

“Who gives away this person?” the minister asked. They don’t ever call brides man.

“Keep him! Take my son away from me. Whatever!” Jensen’s father howled his face turning red. Jensen’s mother patted his arm comfortably.

“Ah. Thank you, Mr. Ackles. Now let’s begin. Let me charge you both to remember, that your future happiness is to be found in mutual consideration, patience, kindness, confidence, and affection. Jared, it is your duty to love Jensen as yourself, provide tender leadership, and protect him from danger. Jensen, it is your duty to treat Jared with respect, support him, and create a healthy, happy home. It is the duty of each of you to find the greatest joy in the company of the other; to remember that in both interest and affection, you are to be one and undivided. Now you may read your vows.”

Jared squeezed Jensen’s hand and grinned at him. “I love you Jensen as I love no other. All that I am I share with you. I take you to be my wife through health and sickness, through plenty and want, through joy and sorrow, now and forever.”

Jensen tried to steady his voice as he began to speak. “I love you Jared as I love no other. All that I am I share with you. I take you to be my husband through health and sickness, through plenty and want, through joy and sorrow, now and forever.”

“Stop this! Stop it! Give me back my son!” Jensen turned to see his father standing. His face was red and streaked with tears. “This is sick. Why are you doing this to him?” Several men from Jared’s side rushed towards him, shushing him.

“Do you wish to continue?” The minister turned to Jensen.

“Yes,” he whispered.

“No! Don’t! Please! I’m begging you.”

“Someone please remove this man!” Jared’s father bellowed. Several men grabbed his arm and pulled him from the church.

“Ahem. Let’s continue. May I have the rings. Let us pray. Bless, O Lord, the giving and receiving of these rings. May Jared and Jensen abide in Thy peace and grow in their knowledge of Your presence through their loving union. May the seamless circle of these rings become the symbol of their endless love and serve to remind them of the holy covenant they have entered into today to be faithful, loving, and kind to each other. Dear God, may they live in Your grace and be forever true to this union. Amen."

"Jensen, I give you this ring as a symbol of our vows, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. With this ring, I thee wed."  Jared gently placed the ring on Jensen’s finger.

"Jared, I give you this ring as a symbol of our vows, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. With this ring, I thee wed." Jensen grabbed Jared’s hand and slipped his ring on. His hands were shaking so bad he could barely place it.

“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

Jared swooped down and kissed Jensen. For the first time this day, Jensen actually feels happy. He feels love. It feels right.

“For the first time, I announce to you Mr. and Mrs. Jared Padalecki.”

Today, Jensen became Mrs. Jensen Padalecki. Mr. Jensen Ackles was gone forever.
