I assume you're referring to the abrupt change of scenery?

What else? Best thing I've seen happen here since I got here.

How long ago was that?

Uh.. About four months now?

Four months...I see. And nothing of this nature has occurred during that time? The existence of the City itself is already a lot to swallow, but the idea that it can uproot and change locations as easily as one would change outfits is even more so. I haven't noticed any lack of oxygen, either.

I hope you don't mind questions. I've only just recently arrived.

Nah, it's fine. I had a few when I got here.

And no, nothing like this has happened that I know of. It's kinda weird, but this is the closest to home I've been in months.

Excellent. My name is Okumura Yukio.

[er- hmmmmm]

Did you live on a space station of some kind?

I'm Jim.

Sort of. There was a spaceport close to my planet, so we got a lot of sailors come through. This is all pretty high-tech compared to what we had. [And more of the electricity and not. Solar power.]

Your planet- you aren't from Earth originally, Jim-san?

No, m'not. Ancestors are, but-- Long line, and all that.

Ah...

You mentioned sailors and spaceports. It sounds as if your sailors navigate space the way ours navigate the sea. Were you one of them?

From what I've seen of the ocean, yeah, it's like that. I was-- Kind of. I was a, uh. Cabin boy.

There's nothing to be ashamed of. Most of us have to start from the bottom and work our way up.

I guess. I just wanted to finish what-- Anyway.

Yeah. Like what you said.

...It's rather unfair to start saying something and then cut yourself off, Jim-san.

Yeah, sorry.

[Get used to it, buddy. He does it a lot.]
