please note. i LIKE Bela. and while respectful discussions of why you don't are all right, the "no bashing anyone" rule is still in effect for my journal. thanks

that i don't know for sure.... i guess i'd have to go back and rewatch the whole season to pick it up - i do confess i've only seen each ep exactly once.
Actually I would have been more disappointed if Bela had NOT used the opportunity to gain something for herself. It would have been out of character for her, based on what we know
( ... )
Kripke is not going to give Dean an easy out on this one and I'm glad he isn't. hehehe he said he wasn't going to make it easy!!
Why particularly is it so negative after this episode? because, as one person said - she "got them" again. and i think it's more that D & S know this is Bela, and they keep giving her ways to get them.
and you're right - there are people who don't like her "just 'cuz".... cause she's a GIRL. that's why people LIKE Bobby! he doesn't have "designs" on the boys - he's not a love-interest. but Bela? ewwwwww girls! on Supernatural?? (what? are we seven?)
yeah. i like Bela, i like Ruby.
and you're right - Sam needs to get laid. and why not Bela? *giggles*
People get so uptight about "girls" being on the show and I have NO idea why. And it really doesn't make sense because they weren't introduced as love interests.
I applaud Kripke for adding female characters whose sole purpose is NOT to be the doomed girlfriend of one of the heroes (or the girl they can't have, the girl left behind, etc.) They are strong, independent women who have more going on for them then a bit of flirting with the opposite sex. Why can't women be antangonists? People didn't seem to have this problem with Meg and she very much an antagonist. It just boggles my mind.
And it really doesn't make sense because they weren't introduced as love interests. well, now people are stuck on a line from Eric's TV Guide interview....he was asked about the fan reaction to Bela, and part of his answer inclusdd this:
"Because she wasn't going to be a love interest anytime soon, I thought we were adding a fun foil for the boys, in a Rosalind Russell (or depending on your cultural references, Mr. and Mrs. Smith) kind of way."
Because she wasn't going to be a love interest anytime soon - which means he had her in mind for that all along, and he slipped up and gave away his plan..... someone said Kripke talks to much, and he just did.
i have a post somewhere where i put forth my idea of how i thought they should introduce a love interest - but the important thing of that? is for Eric NOT to any anything!!!!!
leopards don't change their spots, but this time I think they thought they were being "safe" they kept stuff locked up in the safe and they certainly weren't gonna let her sleep over. Not to mention, at first, they thought she wasn't even showing up to help at all.
Even Bobby told them to "check their pockets" and then LOL'd when they literally did. I LOL'd too. I don't have a problem with her constantly "getting them" because that's what Bela does FOR A JOB. She's a thief. A GREAT THIEF. She's said it from day one. Sam and Dean are slowly learning that their precautions aren't good enough. At all. Each time they get a bit smarter, but not quite smart enough.

I have no real issues with Bela. There are certain things I don't want to see with her character, like her being redeemed, but I do want to know why she thinks all hunters are psychos and who in her family she killed, but I'm perfectly happy with her being an amoral bitch. I do wish the boys would stop calling her, though.
And anteka is right, the colt made things too easy.
