*awesome Supernatural episode! now, where's my Bobby and Rufus spin-off? XD also, shout-out to previous seasons with Lillith and the Apocalypse. do y'all still want S1 back? no? i didn't think so
( Read more... )
I very much enjoyed last night's Supernatural episode. It was nice to see Bobby back even if it was a flashback case episode...
I feel sad that my favorite episodes on this season of Castle were the ones where Castle and Beckett were on their own. I've been so annoyed by what seemed like a bad storytelling choice to split the two up... and the clandestine relationship was silly too. I do like the addition of Hayley though and every scene with her and Alexis is a breath of fresh air (really, I'd watch an Alexis Castle spinoff...) I hope with that episode ending the show can finally move forward, it felt very stagnant and I wasn't enjoying it that much. That's my problem, not the hanging strings.
I agree. They aren't passive aggressive at all. - I liked your B5 post. I never watched First Wave but I read those too and agreed with you. I think it terms of Buffy and Angel mostly when I think of storytelling past shows.
TVD was renewed yep. I kinda liked what they were doing this season, haven't watched the last episode though. Not having Elena in the picture allowed them to do some creative storytelling. It's good for me. - sorry, don't watch The 100.
Still watching OUAT too - I just keep thinking Hercules (Disney) and the greek myth though with the underworld stuff.
CHUCK. I love Chuck. My husband still hates Brandon Routh thanks to that show.. (I swear, he watches Arrow/The Flash/Legends of Tomorrow for me, and even though Ray Palmer is such a lovable dork, he's can't stand him because of Chuck.) Also, Matt Bomer is awesome in that, yep. I agree, similarities to Neal.
as you know, i like all the episodes of all my shows. =)
i think the writers wanted something new and fresh for Castle, and this was a new plot idea for them, but they forgot about the buckets o'crazy part of any fandom...
i'm actually all caught up on all my shows, including TVD. i know Elena was a huge part of the book, but that's the book. a tv director doesn't know what's in the hearts and minds of their actors.
i have a lot of B5 storytelling posts. i tried to use Star Wars for one of the examples, but essentially i got bullied by someone on my flist at the time not to use SW, that it was a BAD example. and as much as i tried to justify it, i finally just gave up and changed it to a B5 example. and as i pointed out in that entry, if 100 people understood my SW reference, only 5 of them would get the B5 reference. *sigh*
re: Brendan Routh - i think M is only up to s2, which explains why i don't know the character yet....
OUaT - yeah, Hades is the Disney version, and i have not seen Disney's Hercules yet... hmmm, maybe i should fix that?
I don't consider myself in the bucket's o'crazy part - it was more that I was bored. I didn't go all rabid. I'm hoping to be less bored - I enjoyed the last two episodes!
TVD moved away from the books so long ago that I just don't care bout that anymore. I like Julie Plec's take on it. I like both for their own merits (I've gotten used to this with shows from books I love - Shannara, Game of Thrones, Sword of Truth/Legend of the Seeker...)
LOL, yeah.
Ah, he'll come in. I tried to be as nonspoilery as I could in that.
Not sure if it's really needed other than the blue hair thing (lol, that's just cheesy to me). I think things may be more greek myth based (hello Rumple's second child - Persephone type storyline but man, she'd have to grow up quick...)
i get all kinds of google alerts for the actors i watch, including Nathan. there were plenty of articles about Castle's ratings dropping because of the plot line, and to me, that's what reminded me of the buckets o'crazy parts of any fandom.
yeah, TVD moved away from the books after the first four. they did pull a small something from the Return trilogy, but someone would only know that if they read it.
well, i did get the blue hair thing. it is kinda cheesy, but it makes the point, yeah? XD
Ah, ok. Yeah, I don't pay much attention to most fandoms except for fanfiction usually. But I'm not surprised ratings dropped. People liked it when Castle and Beckett finally got together. I know I was bored for the first half of the season.
Haven't read the books in forever, but I think you're referring to the end of the last book of the trilogy? :) Yeah, I saw that part. It was neat how they sort of kept something's going (I'm waiting on Nina Dobrev to realize that Elena was the best thing she had and to come back for the rest of that storyline... ;)
I happened to like Castle and Beckett doing their own thing, but then again, I'm weird that way.
What part are you thinking of? There was a bit in the Return series (the second series) where Stefan was in a prison, and Elena, Bonnie, Meredith and Damon went into the Dark Dimension to rescue him. There was a bit in the show that reminded me of that (it was only Elena and Damon on the show, but.....)
Oh, I was thinking the very end where after Damon died, the last scene was him coming back to life - sort of mirrors Season 5-6 (damon and bonnie die but don't die, end up in the time bubble. Of course, you could mirror Stefan in the crate in the lake (season 4-5) with Stefan in prison.. it's kinda neat how they've kept the mirror or storylines, but not exact. - waiting for Elena to turn out to be an angel though, lol.
