interesting fall-out from last night's episode.
*about an incontinuity that people apparently have been pointing out,
SuperWiki has that covered, it's item #6.
*noticed a few people who, a just few weeks ago said they were done with the show, posting about it - and liking it. now, normally, i'd just say "i wonder what that's all about," but this is the internet, and no one can hear the amusing laugh in my voice as i say that. and while i'm going to say that i have SO MUCH LOVE for this episode (8x12), i think that's what brought a lot of people back. no, not brought them back, that's not the right phrase, but i don't know what is. i don't think they really left.
8x10 was a deep, heavy episode, where Sam had to decide about Amelia; Dean had to decide about Benny; Cas is now a Naomi-Minion. oh no, i mentioned characters that people seem to hate on. why do they hate on Benny and Amelia?**Amelia took Sam away from Dean (wait! Dean's in Purgatory! how is this different from Dean and Lisa? oh, it's not. Lisa took Dean away from Sam. wait! Sam's in Hell! yeah.....) (get back in there, you little Cynic! *tries to keep my Inner Cynic from leaking out toooo much*)
**Benny's a vampire/monster that Dean trusts and Dean's not supposed to trust (let alone befriend) monsters.
so, 8x10. yeah, a lotta crap hit the fan and people didn't like Chapter 10. so turn the page and keep reading for Dean LARPing (handmaid! love it.) Continue reading into Chapter 12, and learn a few more things. oh, they're not quite right? in a collaborative effort, everyone has a different perspective, and they translate things right. Sure, someone's dad walked out on them one night. crappy thing to do. but maybe mom had a different hubby after that. maybe that young son might grow up and end up having two different families one day.
but into every heavy-handed storyline, some fun should fall. LARPing, time travel, demons - just your average day in the Winchester household.
so to those people who threw the book against the wall in chapter 10, but then realised they really did want to keep reading and picked it up again anew with Chapter 11 or 12, to them i say "welcome home."
