another crochet critter

you may not know this, because i don't post a lot about it... but i watched Dr Who when i was younger (like 1982/3-ish). i've seen some of John Pertwee (#3) and some of Peter Davidson (#5), but my favorite was Tom Baker (#4). maybe it was the humor ("jelly belly anyone?"), maybe it was that i was a kid and thought it was pretty cool. maybe it was The Scarf .... or maybe it was K9. i have a K9 icon that i use from time to time, too.

the other day, i set about trying to find a K9 i could make/crochet. i found a knitting pattern, and up until last night, i hadn't thought i could read a knitting pattern. i posted on my new-found yarny forum, Ravelry, and asked if there was a way you could "translate" from knit to crochet.

someone on ravelry gave it a try, and provided part of the pattern translation. it was actually fairly easy to translate the rest, using the part that had been posted as well as the pictures of the finished K9.

it's not perfect, and it doesn't say K-9 on the side, but it's not bad for a first, and i think we can pretty much tell who it is. =)
