Storytelling: On TV Shows

May 24, 2011 13:17

“We are interested in what happens in the purview of the boys. We feel that in terms of what we can accomplish, the scope of the show, our storyline is best accomplished where the Impala can go.” ~Sera Gamble, as quoted on May 20, 2011

Those that should see it probably won't, and those that already know you are right will be the only ones to comment.

Like I said before most of this fandom not all are batshit crazy. =) (oh wait I am not allowed to say anything mean)

Some shows are better with this than others. Some forget about what made the stories and characters good and turn it into a sex fest, or whatever. Thinking of Trueblood and the like

I TOTALLY agree with you on this!!!! There's more to a show than sex. I couldn't watch all the way through the first season of Tru Blood cause of all the sex. :(

Its really a shame that shows on SHowtime think they have to overdo the sex just to get high ratings

well, seeing as i don't watch True Blood... but yes - some shows adapt to the flow and the tides and move with the waves than fight them.

Yes ma'am, that's why I had to use the Cade icon. I remember all the bs started over adding Traci. "rolls eyes"

Do you ever get tired of making posts like this? I'm not asking to be rude or mean, I'm just genuinely curious. You tend to post stuff like this (in various forms) quite frequently, and I always wonder if you feel like you're getting your point across or not (although, I'm assuming not! LOL). :) I don't think I would have the same patience you do- I would end up just unfriending the people that cause me to want to make these posts. :)

yeah, i do get tired.... and no, i don't feel like i'm getting my point across... the people who should read it don't.

but, i think the people who cause these kinds of post are either not on LJ (and maybe someone might link 'em to it? idk) or they might randomly find the post via friendsfriends.

when i was typing this up, i almost put in that i think this season my flist finally "got it" but i didn't. i think there are people on my flist who claim to "get it" when they really don't.

the good news is, that i while i posted one of these back around 6x01 or 6x02, i didn't have to post any more until now... so that's a big improvement over S2-5. heh.
