...as referred to by
dooferlad was in fact the lady next door having her back door boarded-up: Someone had kicked it in but, oddly, stolen nothing from the house. Anyhow, she asked me to stay with her and her daughter until the police had come and gone, which meant a late night. I did my best to reassure our neighbour that she'd be safe but she seems to have had a tough life, though some details about her past do seem to change, so it wasn't easy.
In other news, I had wonderful evening out with
punking,
dugarrey and some other friends; disappointed that neither
dooferlad or
dua could make it. Feeling a trifle nostalgic,
dugarrey and I downed some snakebite and black, after chinese, but thankfully that's about as close to Rockworld as we came.
Otherwise I'm doing my best to struggle through the ongoing
Ranma 1/2 blight... No new printed volumes have been released in the UK for several months, so I've been prompted to find an alternative fix:
I've no idea whether this will be up everyone's street but
Angel Sanctuary is so heart-achingly gorgeous, it's almost like falling in love again ;) The artist, Kaori Yuki, plays fast and loose with proportion but has great sense of composition and drama. Needless to say, I adore
Bishounen and
Shoujo manga and fans of the same should look into this provided you're not easily offended, as the series almost completely disregards certain cultural taboos. (It ties in nicely with
In Nomine too! ^_^)
