Election Day

I am so glad that today is election day. No more hearing the ads on radio or seeing them on t.v. At least for the next year or so till the next election cycle gears up, anyway. I'm a bit tired of it seeming like every conversation anyone has is about politics. Politics have just gotten so damned ugly in recent years. People get so rabidly one party or the other. It makes no sense to me to vote a party rather than the person. I don't agree with everything that any of the parties purport. So I consider myself to be neither Republican or Democrat. I guess that makes me an Independant. I tend to vote on the people themselves. I am also not a one issue voter. I don't think that there is an absolute perfect fit for anyone. We aren't all going to think the same way on everything.

The one thing that I do know for sure is that we need a change. The current administration - both at the Federal and State level - is a joke. Unfortunately, this joke is not so funny. Montana's Junior Senator is under investigation in the Jack Abramof scandal. As a matter of fact, he received more money from Abramof than any other Senator in the country. He also suffers from EXTREME foot - in - mouth disease. Every time he opens his mouth, he embarrasses our state and makes us all look like a bunch of yokels. Time Magazine listed him as one of the 5 Worst Senators in the country. He's a joke in the halls of both the House and the Senate. Hell, he was even given 2 gifts by his fellow Senators.....a spitoon for the main Chamber (so he doesn't spit on the floor) and a pad for his desk to protect it from his boots. Yep, that's how I want my Senator to be seen. He represents us oh-so-well. And to make the whole thing bug me even more....he's not even from Montana! He's from Missouri. He needs to go back there and leave us alone!
