God, Kirsten.

I kind of wish this were public so I could link people to it willy-nilly.

I've made it public just for you, love.

I hope things are getting better. I miss you terribly.

The administration that actively focuses people's attention elsewhere when this is going on within our borders is responsible for criminal neglect, and should be punished accordingly.

There are as many deaths as September 11th, and half a million houses are destroyed as well. Nowhere in the news did I read anything that helped me fathom the scale of this damage. I cannot believe it took the administration a week to send anyone down there (Canada beat our own government to it!), and how, after seven months, there are still thousands of people waiting for help. We let this happen, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around how.

What bothers me more than the fact that we let it happen is that we continue to do nothing about it. Has the government just forgotten?

I cried at seeing this. I was holding my puppy when I say that photo of the deceased one.

Kirsten, you are so brave and mighty. I love you.

Thank you.

Awww! Doesn't the puppy tear your heart out? The cat was still intact, and I couldn't bear to photograph it.

I love you immensely. Hope you're doing well.

That made me tear up...

Good god...

This is the Bush administration at it's finest.

It's absolutely appalling. And they're doing virtually nothing now to improve the situation.

You're a beautiful writer, and I want to thank you for showing this to the world. Here, New Orleans is something that happened a long time ago, and of course it's still happening and the media doesn't want to know any more. This reminder is timely and so very poignant. Thank you.
